Boron

Boron is a chemical element with the symbol B and atomic number 5. It is a metalloid, meaning it has properties of both metals and nonmetals. Boron is found in nature as compounds with oxygen and other elements, and is primarily extracted from borate minerals such as borax and kernite.

Boron has a variety of industrial applications, including as a component in fiberglass, ceramics, and electronic devices. It is also used in agriculture as a micronutrient for plants and in nuclear reactors as a neutron absorber. Additionally, boron compounds have been studied for their potential use in cancer treatment and as a flame retardant.
