Oman

Oman has a history of mining dating back to the early Bronze Age period. The country's mineral resources were used for domestic tools and traded with neighboring civilizations. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, mining intensified in Oman with the discovery and exploitation of copper deposits in the northern mountains. The Al Jaber, Al Hadeetha, and Lasail mines were some of the major copper mines operated during this period. However, the mining activities declined due to a lack of investment and outdated technology.

Oman's mineral reserves include copper, chromite, gypsum, limestone, and silica, among others.
