Chevron

Chevron Corporation is a multinational energy corporation that explores, produces, and refines oil and natural gas around the world. Headquartered in California and traded on the New York Stock Exchange, Chevron is a major player in the oil and gas industry with operations spanning over 180 countries.

Chevron is primarily involved in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. The company has significant upstream operations across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. As of December 2022, Chevron reported net proved reserves of 12.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent, with around 58% crude oil and natural gas liquids and 42% natural gas.

In addition to upstream operations, Chevron also has an extensive downstream business which refines crude oil into products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Chevron’s refining system has a crude oil processing capacity of 1.8 million barrels per day. The company is developing both conventional oil and gas resources as well as shale, tight oil, and oil sand deposits, while also produces commodity petrochemicals and fuel additives.

Beyond oil and gas production, Chevron aims to advance lower carbon energy solutions including renewable fuels, carbon capture, renewable power, and hydrogen production. This aligns with the company's efforts to reduce emissions intensity in its operations and aspiration to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions from upstream by 2050.
