Li-Cycle Company Overview

Li-Cycle Holdings Corp. is a Toronto-based company focused on lithium-ion battery resource recovery and recycling. The company utilizes its patent-protected Spoke & Hub Technologies to provide a closed-loop solution for manufacturing waste and end-of-life batteries.

Li-Cycle currently operates two Spokes for battery processing and recycling in North America - New York and Arizona, with nameplate processing capacities of up to 5,000 and 10,000 tonnes per annum of lithium-ion battery input, respectively. The company has additional Spokes under development in Alabama, Norway and Germany. Li-Cycle is also developing the Rochester Hub in New York, which is designed to process up to 35,000 tonnes of lithium-ion battery input and refine material to produce battery-grade chemicals.

In addition, Li-Cycle has a joint venture partnership with Glencore to develop a lithium-ion battery recycling facility at Glencore's Portovesme smelter site in Italy, called the Portovesme Hub. The Portovesme Hub would have capacity to process up to 70,000 tonnes per annum of black mass and produce refined battery materials.

Li-Cycle's integrated network of Spokes and Hubs is aimed at enabling domestic supply chains for recycled battery materials in North America and Europe to supply the rapidly growing electric vehicle and energy storage industries. With strong industry tailwinds, Li-Cycle is positioned as an emerging leader in lithium-ion battery resource recovery.
