Tantalex Lithium Corp. is a minerals exploration and development company focused on lithium, tin and tantalum projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Tantalex's flagship project is the Manono Lithium Tailings project, located in Tanganyika province in Southeast DRC. The project aims to reprocess former mining tailings to produce lithium concentrate.
Tantalex also owns and operates the TiTan Tin & Tantalum project in Manono territory which produces tin and tantalum mineral concentrates from alluvial deposits. This operating asset generates cash flow for the company. Further exploration will aim to expand resources and mine life. Additionally, Tantalex holds claims over a 25-kilometer-long corridor with lithium pegmatite potential southwest of the Manono mine. An exploration drilling campaign over this pegmatite corridor is planned, with potential to outline hard rock lithium resources.
In January 2023, the company announced a maiden resource estimate on Manono Lithium Tailings project of 5.46 million tonnes of measured and indicated resources at 0.72% Li2O and 6.63 million tonnes of inferred resources at 0.49% Li2O. The company is targeting commercial production of lithium concentrate by 2025.
