CopperCorp Positions for Australia's Next Major Copper Discovery

CopperCorp Resources is advancing two copper-gold projects in Tasmania, Australia's premier mining jurisdiction, providing exposure to potential district-scale discoveries.

  • CopperCorp Resources is exploring for copper in Tasmania, Australia. They have two main projects - Alpine and Skyline.
  • At Alpine, they have drilled over 7,000 meters and are working to define a resource estimated at 50-100 million tons at 1% copper.
  • Skyline is a new project with visible copper that also has potential for gold, silver, lead and zinc. Initial sampling returned high grades.
  • The company has a small burn rate of around $100k per month and $6.2 million in cash.
  • The CEO believes the assets will appeal to mid-tier and major mining companies looking for projects in safe jurisdictions.

CopperCorp Resources Inc. is an emerging base and precious metals exploration company focused on two highly prospective projects in Tasmania, Australia's premier mining jurisdiction. With copper prices expected to rise over 50% by 2030, CopperCorp offers investors exposure to potential district-scale discoveries in a safe, mining-friendly location.

Alpine Project: Large Copper System in the Making

The company's flagship project is the Alpine Copper Project, located in the proven mining district of northwest Tasmania. Covering over 1,000 km2, the extensive land package contains over 25 untested targets with potential for large-scale copper-gold deposits.

At the advanced Jasper Hills prospect within the greater Alpine project area, CopperCorp has already drilled over 7,000 meters and defined an initial copper resource. CEO Stephen Swatton stated:

“We’re probably going to be defining a resource of somewhere between 50 and 100 million tons at 1% copper."

Additional drilling has the potential to significantly expand the current resource estimate. Mineralization remains open at depth, with grades improving to over 2% copper equivalent at depths below 200 meters. According to Swatton:

“It’s just a rounding error in some sort of budget for them [major miners] to be able to put a $10 million program down."

With $6 million cash in the bank and a minimal burn rate, CopperCorp is fully funded to continue resource definition drilling and test for extensions of the Alpine system.

Skyline Project: A New Copper-Gold-Silver Discovery

In addition to the Alpine copper project, CopperCorp controls the newly discovered Skyline project just 10 km from the operating Henty gold mine in western Tasmania. Skyline covers over 50 km2 and contains multiple untested targets analogous to major VMS and epithermal precious metals deposits in the region.

CopperCorp recently completed an initial 2-hole drill program at the Dora prospect, with visible copper sulphides observed. Assays are pending, but surface sampling returned exceptional grades up to 47 g/t gold and 5.5% copper. Additional drilling is planned for 2023 to follow up this potential discovery hole. According to Swatton:

“We have two large areas around here which are still unexplored. The Dora zone is five kilometers long in itself and we’ve only just put two holes from one platform at the moment."

The Skyline project provides significant upside potential from follow-up drilling on the very encouraging initial results.

Positioned for Acquisition in a Top Mining Jurisdiction

With two advanced exploration projects and minimal expenditure requirements, CopperCorp offers exceptional leverage to rising copper and precious metals prices. Located in the safe, low-risk jurisdiction of Tasmania, the assets are prime takeover targets for mid-tier and major mining companies looking to replenish their project pipelines.

As Swatton noted based on recent conversations with executives from Rio Tinto and BHP:

“We don’t want to find large Assets in difficult locations anymore, we want to find Assets in friendly locations and we want to grow them from midsize to larger."

Trading at a market capitalization of just C$10 million, CopperCorp provides investors with highly leveraged exposure to potential world-class discoveries by an experienced management team focused on shareholder value creation.

The Investment Thesis for CopperCorp Resources

  • Exposure to two advanced copper-gold exploration projects with significant resource expansion and new discovery potential
  • Assets located in safe, mining-friendly jurisdiction of Tasmania, Australia
  • Tight capital structure with only 43 million shares outstanding provides leverage to exploration success
  • Drill results pending from new Skyline project - potential high-grade discovery
  • Alpine project could attract interest from major miners looking to acquire district-scale projects in Tier 1 jurisdictions
  • Experienced board and management with track record of discovery success and shareholder value creation
