Kodiak Copper Reports Drilling Results from South Zone at MPD Project

Kodiak reports 0.46% copper equivalent over 111.3 metres from surface drilling across 950 metres of strike length at South Zone

  • Strike Length Coverage: Drilling confirmed copper-gold mineralization across 950 metres of strike length at the South Zone
  • Near-Surface Intercepts: Best result of 0.46% copper equivalent over 111.3 metres from 1.5 metres depth in hole RC-AXE-25-010
  • Drilling Completion: All 22 drill holes intersected mineralization with most drilling within 250 metres of surface
  • Resource Estimate Timeline: Results will feed into Q4 mineral resource estimate for South, West, and Adit Zones
  • Programme Status: 2025 drilling programme totalling 5,003 metres completed on time and budget

Kodiak Copper Corp. (TSX-V: KDK) is a copper exploration company with projects in Canada and the USA. The company focuses on copper porphyry projects that have been historically drilled and contain known mineral discoveries. Kodiak's main asset is the 100% owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project located in south-central British Columbia's Quesnel Terrane mining district.

Drilling Results at South Zone

The 2025 programme comprised 22 reverse circulation holes totalling 2,746 metres at the South Zone. The best intercept came from hole RC-AXE-25-010, which returned 0.39% copper, 0.10 g/t gold and 1.63 g/t silver (0.46% copper equivalent) over 111.3 metres from 1.5 metres depth. This hole included a higher-grade section of 0.51% copper, 0.13 g/t gold and 2.24 g/t silver (0.62% copper equivalent) over 59.4 metres.

Additional results include hole RC-AXE-25-016 with 0.27% copper, 0.05 g/t gold and 2.54 g/t silver (0.33% copper equivalent) over 96 metres from 4.6 metres depth. Hole RC-AXE-25-006 intersected 0.26% copper, 0.06 g/t gold and 0.99 g/t silver (0.30% copper equivalent) over 147.8 metres from 4.6 metres depth.

All drill holes ended in mineralization and the South Zone remains open in multiple directions and at depth. The mineralization consists of altered volcanic rocks and altered, coarse-grained monzonite porphyry stocks with predominantly copper, lesser gold and minor molybdenum.

Geological Interpretation and Resource Development

Drilling confirmed historic results and improved geological confidence in areas of lower drill density. The South Zone correlates with a 2.3 kilometre copper-in-soil anomaly and related induced polarization responses. The company now interprets the South, Adit, and Mid Zones as forming a single system, with the Mid Zone considered an extension of the South Zone.

The 2025 results will contribute to a mineral resource estimate for the South, West and Adit Zones expected in Q4. Combined with the Q2 resource estimate covering the Gate, Ketchan, Man and Dillard Zones, this will complete the initial mineral resource estimate for the MPD Project.

Additional drill results from the West and Adit Zones are expected in Q3. According to the company, both zones have previously returned substantial near-surface, high-grade mineralization in past drilling programmes.

Programme Completion and Next Steps

The 2025 drill programme at MPD totalled 5,003 metres across 31 reverse circulation holes (3,598 metres) and 13 diamond drill holes (1,405 metres). The programme was completed on schedule and within budget parameters.

Current field work focuses on detailed geological mapping, prospecting and geological investigation around known zones and priority targets, including VRIFY Areas of Interest. West and Adit Zone results are scheduled for release in Q3, followed by the comprehensive mineral resource estimate in Q4.

CEO Claudia Tornquist stated: "These results not only confirm historic drilling but also significantly strengthen our confidence as we move toward adding the South Zone to our Mineral Resource estimate for the MPD Project."

Outlook

The company has reported results from 22 holes at the South Zone as the first results from its 2025 drilling programme. Additional results from the West and Adit Zones are expected in Q3, with the complete mineral resource estimate for South, West and Adit Zones scheduled for Q4. This will finalize the initial resource estimate for the entire MPD Project when combined with the existing four-zone estimate released in Q2.
