Comstock Resources, Inc. is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the acquisition, development, production, and exploration of oil and natural gas properties primarily in North Louisiana and East Texas. The company is focused on the development of the Haynesville shale and Bossier shale formations.

Comstock has 470,000 net acres in the Haynesville/Bossier shale and estimated proved reserves of 6.7 trillion cubic feet equivalent (Tcfe). The company has identified 1,491 net future drilling locations that have an average lateral length of 8,949 feet.

Comstock has a substantial scale as one of the largest producers in the Haynesville basin. The company produced 1.4 billion cubic feet equivalent per day (Bcfe/d) in early 2023, and with access to premium pricing for its natural gas with its properties directly connected to the U.S. Gulf Coast region.

The company has a strong balance sheet to support further development. As of September 30, 2023, Comstock has $20 million of cash on hand and $1.5 billion of liquidity secured under its bank credit facility.
