Renergen Renewable Energy

Renergen Ltd is a South Africa-based alternative and renewable energy company focused on the development of helium and natural gas resources, and has become the world’s newest global producer of liquid helium as its production commenced January 2023 after thorough commissioning completed. The company's flagship project is the Virginia Gas Project located in the Free State province of South Africa.

The Virginia Gas Project contains a large natural gas resource with high helium concentrations of around 3%. Phase One has over 200 billion cubic feet of 1P natural gas reserves and over 7 billion cubic feet of 1P helium reserves. Phase Two is planned to be over 10x larger than Phase One. Phase One is expected to reach steady state production by fiscal year 2025. Phase Two construction could begin following financing and permitting, with target completion before fiscal year 2027.

Overall, Renergen has a large, high quality helium and natural gas resource base in South Africa. Phase One production is now online and ramping up, while Phase Two offers massive upside in the coming years if development progresses as planned. The company aims to be a major producer and supplier of helium and natural gas both domestically and globally.
