Yancoal Company Overview

Yancoal Australia Ltd is an Australian coal producer focused on operating coal mines in New South Wales and Queensland. The company produces both metallurgical and thermal coal from a portfolio of majority-owned mines including Moolarben, Mount Thorley Warkworth, Hunter Valley Operations and Stratford Duralie.

Yancoal has interests in five export coal mines with attributable saleable coal production of around 32 million tonnes as of Q3 2023 . The company’s operations are located in the Hunter Valley and Western Coalfields regions of NSW as well as the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. Yancoal’s interests cover open cut and underground operations producing premium quality metallurgical and high energy thermal coal.

In addition to its operating mines, Yancoal has a pipeline of brownfield expansion projects and greenfield exploration opportunities focused on extending mine life and expanding saleable production. Current projects under study include an underground expansion concept at the Mount Thorley Warkworth mine and exploration activities at the Moolarben complex.

Yancoal has a strong balance sheet and continues working towards repayment targets while aiming to deliver long-term shareholder returns through responsible mining practices, operational excellence, measured growth, and shared value for local communities and stakeholders.
