Epsilon Energy Ltd. is a natural gas and oil company focused on the Marcellus Shale in northeastern Pennsylvania and the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico. The company has upstream assets producing natural gas and natural gas liquids as well as midstream assets gathering and transporting natural gas.
Epsilon's core properties are located in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania where it has a working interest in over 5,000 net acres in the Marcellus Shale. This position includes 137 gross-producing wells with total net proved reserves of 84.5 Bcf as of year-end 2022. Epsilon also owns a 35% interest in the Auburn Gas Gathering System, a 45-mile natural gas gathering system in the area with nameplate capacity of 220 MMcf/d.
More recently, Epsilon has established a foothold in the Permian Basin where as of December 2023, the company had 2 gross wells online at 151 boepd for Q3 of 2023. Epsilon sees 20-30 additional drilling locations on its Texas acreage targeting the Barnett formation.
With steady cash flows from its gathering system assets and exposure to natural gas prices through its producing properties, Epsilon utilizes its strong balance sheet to fund development drilling and pursue opportunistic acquisitions. The company also maintains a commitment to returning capital to shareholders through a dividend and share buyback program.
