Company Overview
Westhaven Gold (TSXV:WHN) is advancing the Shovelnose gold-silver project in southern British Columbia towards a development decision while exploring for further discoveries across the emerging Spences Bridge Gold Belt (SBGB). The company holds four properties totalling about 60,263 hectares along the belt, which it believes hosts around 75 km of prospective epithermal veins. Westhaven is led by CEO Ken Armstrong and Chair Eira Thomas, who co-founded Kaminak Gold and sold it to Goldcorp for $560 million.
Shovelnose is a high-grade, low-sulphidation epithermal deposit with an underground Indicated resource of 677,000 oz gold at 6.1 g/T and 3.56 million oz silver, plus 270,000 oz gold Inferred. A 2025 Preliminary Economic Assessment outlined an 11.1-year underground mine producing about 56,000 oz of gold per year, with an after-tax NPV(6%) of C$454 million, a 43.2% after-tax IRR and pre-production capital of C$184 million at a base case gold price of US$2,400/oz. The project benefits from existing infrastructure, with the Coquihalla Highway and grid power crossing the property about 2.5 hours from Vancouver.
In February 2026, Westhaven closed a project-level earn-in with Dundee Corporation (TSX:DC.A), which can earn up to a 60% interest in the four SBGB properties by funding up to C$85 million, including a firm commitment of C$30 million. Westhaven retains a 40% interest with no right of first refusal, and the deal funds work through feasibility without dilution at the corporate level. The 2026 programme of 50,000 m is the largest in the company's history. Resource infill at the South Zone is nearly complete and continues to return wide, high-grade intervals such as 37.89 m grading 5.29 g/T gold.
Westhaven expects an updated resource very early in 2027, followed by a Pre-Feasibility Study in the second half of 2027. Four drills are now moving onto a 15,000 m exploration programme across roughly 93 drill-ready targets. With development funded and its share structure largely protected, Westhaven offers exposure to a high-margin Canadian gold project alongside district-scale discovery potential.
