Maple Gold Appoints Senior Vice President and Completes Joutel Consolidation

Maple Gold Mines Ltd. has appointed a new senior executive to lead corporate development and has completed full ownership of its Joutel Mining Complex in Québec, ahead of planned drilling later this year.

  • Alex Rodriguez joins Maple Gold as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy, bringing over 15 years of mining corporate development, M&A and strategic planning experience
  • Maple Gold has completed its acquisition of a 100% interest in the Eagle Mine Property, achieving full consolidation of the Joutel Mining Complex
  • Eagle contributes 73,000 ounces of gold Indicated and 386,000 ounces Inferred to the Company's resource base
  • Maple Gold is planning fully funded step-out drilling programs at Eagle and Joutel in the second half of 2026 and into 2027
  • The combined Douay/Joutel project holds a resource of 905,000 ounces Indicated and 4,297,000 ounces Inferred gold

Maple Gold (TSXV: MGM) (OTCQX: MGMLF) (FSE: M3G) is a Canada-based gold exploration company advancing its wholly owned Douay/Joutel Gold Project in Québec's Abitibi Greenstone Belt. The project covers roughly 481 square kilometres and includes established road, power and labour infrastructure, with several operating mines located nearby. It hosts a multi-million ounce gold resource across the Douay and Joutel deposits, including the past-producing Eagle and Telbel mines, with the deposits remaining open for further exploration. The property also includes 55 kilometres of strike length along the Casa Berardi Deformation Zone that has not yet been drill tested.

New Senior Vice President to Guide Corporate Development

Maple Gold has appointed Alex Rodriguez, who holds an MBA and the ICD.D director designation, as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy. He brings more than 15 years of experience in mining corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and investor relations across Canada, the United States, Peru and Chile.

Rodriguez most recently led business development at VerAI Discoveries, where he managed strategic partnerships and asset growth across the Americas. He previously served as Vice President, Corporate Development at O3 Mining Inc., and earlier led business development at Volcan Compañía Minera, where he oversaw mergers, streaming agreements and financings with an aggregate value of more than US$1 billion.

President and CEO Kiran Patankar said:

"We are thrilled to welcome Alex to Maple Gold as we achieve full consolidation of Joutel. Alex has a proven execution track record, highlighted by his contributions at O3 Mining where he advanced the Marban gold project and led O3's successful C$204-million acquisition by Agnico Eagle. His experience will strengthen our leadership team as we aggressively scale our operations, pursue new growth initiatives, and work to deliver long-term value for shareholders."

Rodriguez added:

"Joining Maple Gold at this pivotal stage represents a tremendous opportunity. The consolidation of Douay/Joutel under a single ownership structure creates a compelling platform to unlock value through exploration success, resource growth, and disciplined project advancement."

Full Consolidation of Joutel Through the Eagle Mine Acquisition

Maple Gold has acquired a 100% interest in the Eagle Mine Property, a claim within the Joutel Gold Project that hosts the historical Eagle underground mine. Under an option agreement signed with Globex Mining Enterprises Inc. in July 2021, Maple Gold made cash and share payments to Globex totalling C$1.2 million and spent a further C$1.2 million on exploration ahead of the agreement's five-year deadline. Legal title to Eagle, including its permits and reclamation bonds, has now transferred to Maple Gold. Globex retains a 2.5% gross metal royalty on the property, which can be reduced to 1.5% for a future cash payment of C$1.5 million, and holds a right of first refusal on that royalty.

The acquisition brings the Eagle, Telbel and Eagle West mines, together known as the Joutel Mining Complex, under single ownership. These mines produced 1.1 million ounces of gold at an average grade of 6.5 grams per tonne between 1974 and 1993. Eagle's current resource of 73,000 ounces Indicated (0.5 million tonnes at 5.04 grams per tonne) and 386,000 ounces Inferred (3.0 million tonnes at 4.07 grams per tonne) forms part of the Company's mineral resource estimate published in April 2026.

Historical data combined with recent drilling indicates that high-grade mineralisation at Eagle extends beyond the historical underground workings and remains open in multiple directions.

Step-Out Drilling Planned at Joutel and Eagle

Maple Gold is preparing step-out drilling programs at Eagle and Joutel, scheduled for the second half of 2026 and continuing into 2027. Step-out drilling refers to holes placed progressively farther from known mineralisation to test how far a deposit extends. The Company has described the programs as aggressive and fully funded, with the stated aim of testing high-grade mineralisation beyond the historical Eagle workings.

Joutel currently hosts 126,000 ounces Indicated (0.9 million tonnes at 4.53 grams per tonne) and 992,000 ounces Inferred (7.5 million tonnes at 4.11 grams per tonne). Combined with Douay, the project holds 905,000 ounces Indicated and 4,297,000 ounces Inferred, based on the updated resource estimate released in April 2026.

The consolidated ownership of Joutel gives Maple Gold direct control over exploration planning across the complex, including the 55 kilometres of strike length along the Casa Berardi Deformation Zone that remains untested by drilling.

Milestones and Next Steps

Maple Gold's near-term focus is the step-out drilling programs at Eagle and Joutel, planned for the second half of 2026 through 2027, which are intended to test the extent of high-grade mineralisation beyond the historical mine workings. The Eagle acquisition completes ownership consolidation of the Joutel Mining Complex, and Rodriguez's appointment adds dedicated corporate development capacity to the Company's leadership team. Investors can watch for drill results and further updates on the Douay/Joutel project through the remainder of 2026.
