Andrada Mining Completes Second Processing Plant to Double Tin Output

Namibian tin producer's new facility commissioned in final week of August 2025 with 80-100 tonnes per hour capacity
- Second processing plant completed on time and within budget
- Commissioning scheduled for final week of August 2025 with 80-100 tonnes per hour capacity
- Plant designed to process up to 40,000 tonnes of ore monthly at 70% recovery rate
- Ore supply agreement secured with Goantagab mining for 20,000 tonnes at 1.5% tin grade
- Modular design allows independent operation whilst maintaining primary plant production
Andrada Mining Limited (AIM: ATM, OTCQB: ATMTF) is a London-listed technology metals mining company operating the Uis Mine in Namibia. The company is redeveloping the formerly world's largest hard-rock open cast tin mine as a tin-tantalum-lithium producer.
The company operates exploration programmes across fourteen historically mined pegmatites within a 5-kilometre radius of current processing infrastructure. Andrada has set a mineral resource target of 200 million tonnes to be delineated within five years.
Jig Plant Construction Completion
Construction of the Jig Plant has been completed adjacent to existing tin processing facilities. The plant is designed for a nameplate capacity of 80-100 tonnes per hour and can process up to 40,000 tonnes of ore per month. The facility targets a 70% recovery rate, with actual operating parameters to be confirmed during commissioning.
The modular design allows the plant to operate independently from existing facilities, ensuring uninterrupted production at the primary processing plant. Initial feedstock will be sourced from Uis proximal pegmatites with grades between 0.14% and 0.3% tin, plus existing stockpiles.
Chief Executive Officer Anthony Viljoen stated:
"The completion of the Jig Plant on time and within budget is a smart, low-cost upgrade that will immediately boost Uis tin production on the completion of commissioning."
The company has secured an ore supply agreement with Goantagab mining to provide up to 20,000 tonnes of ore at 1.5% tin grade.
Production Expansion and Capacity Growth
The Jig Plant adds processing capacity to Andrada's existing operations at the Uis mine. The facility's 80-100 tonnes per hour capacity represents additional throughput capability beyond current operations. The plant's design allows for scalable expansion in future phases.
Processing operations will utilise ore from multiple sources, including the proximal pegmatites and stockpiled material. The Goantagab mining agreement provides additional ore supply at higher grades than the primary feedstock sources. This diversifies the company's ore supply base.
The additional capacity is intended to increase tin production output. Viljoen noted:
"The plant is a key milestone towards doubling production and positions Andrada well to capture the benefits of a robust and strengthening tin market."
Operational Integration and Implementation
The new facility operates independently whilst sharing site infrastructure with existing operations. This configuration allows maintenance and operational changes at one facility without affecting the other. The modular approach provides operational flexibility for future expansion phases.
Commissioning activities will begin in the final week of August 2025, transitioning the facility from construction to operational status. The commissioning process will validate design specifications and establish actual operating parameters. This phase determines final production capacity and recovery rates.
The facility's location adjacent to existing operations utilises shared infrastructure and reduces operational complexity. Processing operations will begin with available feedstock from pegmatite sources and existing stockpiles, with additional material from the Goantagab agreement.
Next Steps and Implementation Timeline
Commissioning of the Jig Plant commences in the final week of August 2025. This process will establish actual operating parameters and confirm production capacity. The company expects tin output to increase following successful commissioning completion.
Exploration drilling programmes continue across the fourteen additional pegmatites within the 5-kilometre radius. The company maintains its target of delineating 200 million tonnes of mineral resources within five years alongside current production operations.
