Aurion Resources Reports Drilling Results at Kaaresselkä, Risti Property

Aurion Resources reports additional high-grade intercepts at Vanha prospect extending mineralisation at depth and completes KoBold Metals USD$1 million expenditure requirement.

  • Drilling results include 10.93 g/t gold over 5.00m and 1.68 g/t gold over 13.00m at depths approximately 100m below previous intercepts
  • Strike length of gold mineralisation at Kaaresselkä Vanha prospect expanded from 600m to 1,400m during 2025, with mineralisation intersected to 250m depth
  • KoBold Metals completed USD$1 million minimum exploration expenditure under critical minerals partnership agreement
  • Over 15 drill holes awaiting results with drilling continuing at Kaaresselkä and other targets on the 175 km² Risti property
  • Bottle roll leaching tests on two samples showed gold recoveries above 93.6%

Aurion Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: AU) is a Canadian exploration company focused on precious metals exploration in Finland's Central Lapland Greenstone Belt. The company's strategy includes direct exploration on its wholly owned Risti project and joint venture arrangements with B2Gold Corp., Kinross Gold, and KoBold Metals. Aurion's exploration activities are located in northern Finland.

High-Grade Gold Drilling Results at Kaaresselkä Vanha Prospect with Extensions at Depth

The drilling campaign at the Vanha prospect consisted of five drill holes totalling 1,596.40m. Hole KS25141 returned 10.93 g/t gold over 5.00m from 289.90m depth, including 18.05 g/t over 3.00m. The same hole intersected 1.68 g/t gold over 13.00m from 308.90m. Additional intercepts from the programme include 3.73 g/t gold over 4.45m from 246.75m in hole KS25142 and 1.32 g/t gold over 9.35m from 342.80m in hole KS25143.

The results extend known mineralisation approximately 100m to 150m below previous intercepts. The high-grade zone in KS25141 is located 150m below the 2.96 g/t gold over 16.25m intercept from hole KS24092 and 100m below the 1.06 g/t gold over 3.95m intercept from hole KS25112. Hole KS25142 intersected mineralisation approximately 80m below intercepts in KS25096, whilst KS25143 intersected mineralisation approximately 120m below intercepts in KS24088.

Gold mineralisation is hosted in deformed and altered volcanic and sedimentary rocks containing sulphide minerals including pyrite, arsenopyrite, and chalcopyrite.

CEO Matti Talikka commented:

"The progress at the Kaaresselkä area during 2025 was highly encouraging. The strike of the mineralised system at the Vanha prospect was extended from 600m to 1,400m and high-grade gold has been intersected from surface to 250m depth"

Visible gold grains were observed in several drill core samples.

Expansion of Gold Mineralised System from 600m to 1,400m Strike Length and Depth Potential

The drilling programme expanded the strike length of the mineralised system at Vanha from 600m to 1,400m during 2025. The system has been tested to depths of 250m and remains open in multiple directions. All holes intersected gold mineralisation within zones of altered and deformed rock.

Gold mineralisation is concentrated within zones of deformation and alteration along a north-south trending corridor. The geological setting is comparable to other discoveries in the region, including the Helmi discovery 16 km away (Aurion-B2Gold JV), the Ikkari deposit 14 km away (Rupert Resources), and the former Saattopora mine. The Kaaresselkä area is located 15 km east of the Vuoma discovery (28.64 g/t gold over 4.90m) along a structural corridor extending over 25 km.

Over 15 holes remain pending results with drilling ongoing.

CEO Matti Talikka added:

"The ongoing drill programme is designed to provide further evidence on the scale of the Vanha mineralised system that remains open in multiple directions, and to test selected scout targets within the extensive Risti property"

Completion of KoBold Metals USD$1 Million Minimum Exploration Expenditure

Aurion completed the USD$1 million minimum exploration expenditure requirement under the Critical Minerals Exploration Agreement with KoBold Metals. The partnership was announced in March 2025. Under the agreement, Aurion retains full ownership of the Risti property whilst KoBold funds critical minerals exploration work.

An extensive programme of till and bedrock sampling is underway, targeting base metals and battery minerals. This work is being conducted alongside Aurion's gold exploration activities on the property.

The partnership allows Aurion to conduct gold exploration whilst KoBold funds critical minerals work on the same property. Both exploration programmes are progressing on the 175 km² Risti property.

Looking Ahead

Over 15 drill holes are pending results, with drilling continuing to test extensions of the mineralised system at Vanha and scout targets across the Risti property. The ongoing KoBold Metals sampling programme is advancing critical minerals exploration on the property. Previous metallurgical test work on two samples from Vanha showed gold recoveries above 93.6% from bottle roll leaching tests.
