Group Eleven Resources - Emerging Zinc Player in Prolific Irish Orefields

Group Eleven makes new Irish zinc discovery with high grades over wide intercepts plus visible 6km scale potential in proven mining district. Trades at steep valuation discount to peers based on meters drilled.

  • Group Eleven Resources is a zinc exploration company focused on Ireland.
  • They have made a significant discovery called Ballywire, located 20km away from next to Glencore's major zinc deposit Pallas Green
  • Ballywire offers high grades over good widths and has the potential for over 6km of strike length.
  • Ireland is an attractive and stable jurisdiction for mining with good infrastructure.
  • Group Eleven is currently valued under $20 million, despite strong drill results and supportive major shareholders.

About Group Eleven Resources

Group Eleven Resources is a mineral exploration company focused on advanced-stage zinc projects in the Irish Midlands near Limerick. The company holds a large prospective land package totaling over 1,500 square kilometers that allows it to leverage new geological approaches and geophysical technologies to systematically explore for Irish-style zinc deposits.

Group Eleven's two key assets include the 100% owned PG West Project and the adjacent Stonepark Project in which it holds a 75.56% interest. The remaining interest is held by joint venture partner Arkle Resources PLC. These projects are situated next to Glencore's major Pallas Green zinc deposit which contains an undeveloped resource of nearly 50 million tonnes.

The experienced leadership team at Group Eleven includes accomplished mining industry professionals with track records of making discoveries, advancing projects, and building mining companies. Their aim is to make additional high-grade zinc discoveries in Ireland leading to the delineation of mineral resources and economic deposits through disciplined and innovative exploration techniques.

Group Eleven trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker ZNG and on the OTC market under GRLVF. Major shareholders include Glencore Canada Corp. holding 20.8% and well-known mining investor Michael Gentile with 16.5% of shares outstanding.

Interview with Chief Executive Officer, Bart Jaworski

PG West Project

After 7 years of methodical exploration across its large claim area, Group Eleven has recently cracked the code on a brand new high-grade zinc discovery called Ballywire. Located just a few hundred meters from Glencore's Pallas Green project, Ballywire offers grades over 10% zinc, excellent widths, and visible scope for over 6km in strike length.

"We started to figure out that the Limerick area in Southwest Ireland was a real hot spot and that is indeed actually where the highest concentration of zinc deposits is in this country."

The Ballywire discovery hole returned impressive intervals of 10 meters at 10% zinc and 100 g/t silver, including a very high-grade interval of 41% zinc and 385 g/t silver over 2 meters. Follow-up drilling has continued to return strong mineralized intercepts over a 710-meter strike length so far. All holes drilled at Ballywire to date have hit zinc mineralization, with the most recent highlights being 33 meters at 4.4% zinc within a broader 58-meter mineralized zone. Jaworski emphasized that this consistency of mineralization bodes well for quickly defining a resource.

"What I love about this is the fact that all the red lines up pretty much exactly where you'd want it to be – it's all very consistent, which means tonnage potential," he stated. "We don't need a lot of drilling."

Beyond the current 710 meters of strike drilled so far, there looks to be exceptional exploration potential at Ballywire. Gravity surveys have revealed a 2.9km long anomaly running on either side of the discovery holes that have yet to be tested by drilling. Including some outlier historical holes, there is already 1.7km of strike containing significant zinc mineralization. Furthermore, regional gravity data outlines a 6km by 2km area with additional untested targets. According to Jaworski, this scale matches up well against past profitable Irish zinc mines.

"If you take the Lisheen deposit and scale that to the exact same scale as the underlying map you have here, you can easily fit at least 2 Lisheens into that 6x2km search area," Jaworski explained.

"If those gravity anomalies are telling us what we think they're telling us, then we've got a very, very exciting story indeed."

Ireland - A Secure Mining Location

An obvious question for investors is why focus on exploring and developing a mine in Ireland? According to Jaworski, the country offers some major advantages over riskier jurisdictions.

Chief among them is Ireland's stable and transparent mining policy, backed by solid infrastructure like roads, power, and access to European smelters. The Fraser Institute's annual survey of mining companies ranks Ireland at or near the top globally for mining jurisdiction attractiveness. As Jaworski summarized, "In Ireland in order to get prospecting licenses it's a community-first approach. Any questions are answered and once that's done you get your prospecting license. Before we do any work, we ask permission from local landowners so everything we do is pre-approved."

Socially and politically there also seems to be growing recognition in Ireland that a move away from oil and gas needs to be matched with increased metals production. The country has banned new oil and gas exploration but mining enjoys government support.

Valuation Disconnect

Despite Ireland's advantages as a mining jurisdiction, Group Eleven is trading at a significant discount compared to peers. With a market capitalization under USD$20 million.

The reason seems to come down to a simple lack of awareness in the market around the potential of this new discovery. As Jaworski noted, "This is a brand new project, not a zombie project, and that means blue sky potential." Major miners like Glencore seem to recognize the prospectivity. Glencore is a 21% shareholder in Group Eleven, providing a significant vote of confidence.  Notably, influential mining investor Michael Gentile also holds 16.5% of the stock. Insiders including Jaworski have not sold any shares since the founding of the company.

While more drilling will be required to fully delimit the size of the deposit, early indications suggest Group Eleven could be on track to outline another "giant" zinc deposit in Ireland's prolific ore fields. For risk-tolerant investors, the current market disconnect likely represents a compelling opportunity.

The Investment Thesis for Group Eleven Resources

  • New high-grade zinc discovery in a proven mining jurisdiction with good infrastructure.
  • Mineralization open along 710m strike length and strong potential for multi-km scale based on gravity surveys.
  • Undervalued compared to peers
  • Validation from majors - Glencore is a 21% shareholder.
  • Led by an experienced management team and supportive long-term institutional shareholders.

Conclusion

Group Eleven Resources offers investors exposure to a brand new zinc discovery in mining-friendly Ireland with district-scale potential. Early drill results reveal impressive grades over significant widths in an easily mineable setting. With the current market disconnect, shares represent a compelling risk/reward opportunity. Investors should keep a close watch on continued exploration updates.
