Santacruz Silver Gains OTCQX Listing to Expand U.S. Market Access

Santacruz Silver upgrades to OTCQX Best Market trading under SCZMF, potentially improving access for U.S. investors while maintaining TSX Venture listing.

  • Santacruz Silver upgraded from OTCQB to OTCQX Best Market, beginning trading under symbol "SCZMF" on July 2, 2025
  • Company maintains primary TSX Venture Exchange listing under existing symbol "SCZ"
  • OTCQX platform offers improved liquidity, transparency, and access to U.S. retail and institutional investors
  • Move supports broader investor engagement efforts while company continues operating mines in Bolivia and Mexico
  • Enhanced market visibility may attract increased analyst coverage and institutional interest over time

Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. (TSXV:SCZ) is a silver producer with active mines in Bolivia and Mexico. The company’s portfolio includes the 100% owned Zimapan Mine (Mexico) alongside several producing assets acquired in Bolivia. Management focuses on maintaining consistent production levels while managing operational costs and expanding resources through exploration and strategic acquisitions.

Arturo Préstamo serves as Executive Chairman and CEO of Santacruz, bringing leadership experience in mining operations and strategic development. Under his guidance, Santacruz has pursued strategic acquisitions and implemented operational improvements designed to strengthen its production base. The company continues to develop its diversified portfolio of silver and polymetallic projects, providing operational flexibility and direct exposure to silver price movements.

Uplisting to OTCQX: Enhancing Market Access

Santacruz Silver announced its approval to trade on the OTCQX Best Market in the United States on July 2, 2025, with shares beginning trading under the symbol “SCZMF” the same day. This represents an upgrade from the OTCQB Venture Market to the top tier of the OTX Markets Group. The OTCQX platform is recognized for offering improved liquidity, transparency, and investor confidence compared to lower-tier trading platforms.

The company’s shares continue to trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the existing symbol “SCZ” and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the symbol “1SZ”. This multi-exchange approach allows the company to maintain its primary Canadian listing while expanding access to U.S. and European markets. The OTCQX listing may provide greater accessibility for U.S. retail and institutional investors, particularly those who prefer securities meeting higher financial and governance standards.

Arturo Préstamo, Executive Chairman and CEO, commented:

"We are excited to have qualified for the upgrade to this premium capital market. This graduation will strengthen our access to U.S. investors and increase liquidity which is one of Santacruz's key focuses this year. In addition, gaining access to the OTCQX highlights our commitment to transparency and operational excellence. As we continue to advance our strategy, trading on the OTCQX will support our goal of building a leading silver and base metals producer in Latin America while providing long-term value to our shareholders."

Investment Implications

The OTCQX listing signals Santacruz’s commitment to enhanced financial disclosure and corporate governance standards. While this upgrade does not alter the company’s fundamental operations, it may broaden appeal among U.S. investors who face trading restrictions on less regulated markets. The platform offers real-time quotes and improved transparency, potentially supporting better price discovery and execution quality.

This development could attract interest from U.S.-based brokers and institutions, possibly leading to increased analyst coverage and market visibility over time. Higher trading volumes and improved liquidity may benefit both existing shareholders and prospective investors evaluating entry points. However, these potential benefits depend on broader market conditions and the company’s operational performance
