Greenheart Gold Appoints G Mining Executive to Board

Julie-Anaïs Debreil replaces previous G Mining nominee as director under July 2024 investor rights agreement

  • Board Change: Julie-Anaïs Debreil, P.Geo., Ph.D., appointed as director, replacing Dušan Petković as G Mining's nominee
  • Professional Background: Vice President, Geology & Resources at G Mining Ventures Corp. with nearly two decades of experience
  • Academic Credentials: Ph.D. in Economic Geology from INRS-ETE (Quebec) and registered professional geologist in Quebec and Ontario
  • International Experience: Led multidisciplinary teams across Americas in exploration, mine development, and resource management
  • Corporate Connection: Appointment fulfils G Mining's director nomination rights under investor agreement dated July 15, 2024

Greenheart Gold Inc. (TSXV:GHRT) is an exploration company focused on the Guiana Shield, a geological terrain that hosts numerous gold deposits across Guyana and Suriname. The company emerged from a business combination between G Mining Ventures Corp. and Reunion Gold Corporation completed on July 15, 2024.

The company is led by former Reunion Gold executives, including Executive Chairman David Fennell, who previously discovered and delineated the Oko West deposit in Guyana. The company maintains a portfolio of early-stage exploration projects in Guyana and Suriname targeting orogenic gold deposits within greenstone belts of the Guiana Shield.

New Board Director Appointment

Greenheart Gold announced the appointment of Julie-Anaïs Debreil as director, effective immediately. Ms. Debreil replaces Dušan Petković in this role, maintaining G Mining's board representation under the investor rights agreement established during the July 2024 business combination. The appointment represents a routine change in G Mining's director nomination rather than an expansion of the board.

The transition occurs as part of the ongoing relationship between Greenheart Gold and G Mining Ventures Corp., which holds investor rights including board representation. This arrangement was established through the business combination that created Greenheart Gold as a separate exploration entity while maintaining strategic ties to G Mining's operations and expertise.

Executive Chairman David Fennell commented on the appointment, stating that Ms. Debreil

"brings extensive experience spanning exploration, mine development and resource management, and will be a valuable resource to the Company's Board as we advance our project pipeline."

Director Qualifications and Experience

Ms. Debreil currently serves as Vice President, Geology & Resources at G Mining Ventures Corp., where she holds responsibility for geological operations and resource development across the company's portfolio. Her current role involves oversight of exploration activities and resource management, providing her with contemporary experience in mining sector operations and strategic decision-making processes.

Her professional credentials include registration as a professional geologist in both Quebec (OGQ) and Ontario (PGO), demonstrating compliance with provincial regulatory standards. She holds a Ph.D. in Economic Geology from INRS-ETE in Quebec, providing academic foundation in geological sciences and mineralisation processes relevant to exploration activities.

The press release indicates Ms. Debreil has nearly two decades of international experience across the Americas, including work in exploration, mine development, and resource management. During this period, she has led multidisciplinary teams and been involved in mineralisation discoveries and operational improvements.

Strategic Board Enhancement

The appointment maintains G Mining's board representation while introducing different expertise and perspective to Greenheart Gold's governance structure. Her current role at G Mining ensures familiarity with the parent company's operations and strategic objectives, which may facilitate coordination between the two organisations. The investor rights agreement allows G Mining to nominate a director, and this appointment fulfils that provision while introducing someone with direct experience in geological operations and resource development.

The change occurs as Greenheart Gold operates its portfolio of exploration projects across Guyana and Suriname. The board appointment provides oversight as the company continues exploration activities within the Guiana Shield.

Next Steps

The appointment takes effect immediately, with Ms. Debreil assuming director responsibilities for Greenheart Gold's board. The company continues its exploration activities across its portfolio of projects in Guyana and Suriname, with board oversight of these operations now including Ms. Debreil's geological expertise and resource management experience.
