Maple Gold Confirms High-Grade Extension at Joutel, Launches 25,000-Metre Fall Drill Programme

Maple Gold's final Joutel winter results show an 86% hit rate and grade continuity 450m beyond old workings, ahead of a fully funded fall drill campaign.

  • Final four winter drill holes at Joutel returned up to 8.6 g/t gold over 4.2 metres within a broader 2.5 g/t gold over 18.3 metre interval, located between the historic Eagle and Telbel mine shafts.
  • All 22 winter drill holes (10,870 metres) have now been assayed, with 19 holes (86%) intersecting target gold mineralisation.
  • High-grade mineralisation has been traced up to 450 metres beyond the historical Eagle-Telbel workings, with the system remaining open along strike and at depth.
  • None of the winter drilling results were included in the April 2026 Douay/Joutel resource update, as they were received after the November 1, 2025 cut-off date used for that estimate.
  • Maple Gold has launched a fully funded, $9 million, 25,000 metre fall drill programme targeting near-surface resource growth and conversion of Inferred ounces to the Indicated category.

Maple Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV: MGM) (OTCQX: MGMLF) is a Canada-based gold exploration company advancing the Douay/Joutel Gold Project, a roughly 481 square kilometre land package in Quebec's Abitibi Greenstone Belt. The project includes an established gold resource across two deposits, Douay and Joutel, as well as the past-producing Eagle and Telbel mines. The combined Douay/Joutel resource stands at 905,000 ounces of gold in the Indicated category and 4,297,000 ounces in the Inferred category. The company also controls a 55 kilometre stretch of the Casa Berardi Deformation Zone, a regional gold-bearing structure that has not yet been drill tested.

Final Winter Drill Results Confirm 86% Success Rate, Including High-Grade Gold Extending 450 Metres Beyond Historical Workings

Maple Gold has reported assay results from the last four holes of its 10,870 metre winter drilling programme at Joutel, completing the inaugural drill campaign at the project. Of the 22 holes drilled this winter, 19 intersected the targeted gold system, a success rate of 86%.

The strongest result came from hole JO-26-18, drilled between the old Eagle and Telbel mine shafts, which returned 8.6 grams of gold per tonne over 4.2 metres within a wider zone grading 2.5 grams per tonne over 18.3 metres. A nearby hole, JO-26-19, returned 2.5 grams per tonne over 2.0 metres within a broader 1.2 grams per tonne over 9.7 metre interval, located 50 metres northwest along strike from a previously reported hole. Both holes were drilled approximately 100 metres above the historical Eagle mine workings.

Further southeast, a reconnaissance hole located more than a kilometre from the Telbel shaft intersected about 69 metres of a rock type associated with the same mineralisation style found at the historical Eagle-Telbel mines, indicating the gold-bearing system may extend beyond the historical mine footprint. Combined with previously reported holes, high-grade gold has now been traced as far as 450 metres beyond the old workings, with the system remaining open in multiple directions. Seven of the winter holes also returned high-grade intervals above 15 grams per tonne, with a top result of 40.8 grams per tonne over half a metre.

Winter Programme Results Sit Outside the 2026 Resource Estimate, Adding Upside for Future Updates

Maple Gold's most recent resource update for Douay/Joutel, published in April 2026, used a cut-off date of November 1, 2025, for including new drill data. Because all winter assay results were received after that date, none were used in calculating the current Joutel resource of 126,000 ounces Indicated and 992,000 ounces Inferred. As a result, this winter's drilling results are not yet reflected in the official resource estimate and represent data that could be incorporated into a future update.

Resource estimates in mineral exploration are calculated as of a fixed data cut-off date rather than updated continuously, which is why recently drilled results are commonly excluded from the most current estimate until the next scheduled update.

The company also outlined structural patterns from this year's drilling that will inform future targeting. The main mineralised zone, known as the Main Iron Carbonate Horizon, dips steeply and plunges toward the southeast, a trend consistent across both the historic mines and this year's new holes. Parallel zones of mineralisation were also identified in the hanging wall felsic volcanic tuffs and the footwall microgabbro unit, which the company has identified as additional targets for the fall programme.

Fully Funded 25,000-Metre Fall Campaign to Target Near-Surface Growth and Resource Upgrades

Maple Gold commenced an expanded 25,000 metre drill programme this fall, budgeted at $9 million and funded from the company's approximately $23 million treasury. The programme has three stated objectives: filling in gaps between the Eagle and Telbel mine shafts, an area that produced several of the winter programme's results; improving drill density and converting Inferred ounces to the Indicated category in selected areas; and testing priority expansion zones northwest of Eagle, between Eagle and Telbel, and southeast of Telbel.

Alongside drilling, the company will conduct metallurgical testing at Joutel to evaluate ore behaviour and support future process design. Maple Gold has also completed an internal scoping study evaluating development scenarios for Douay/Joutel, including a centralised mill facility to process material from both deposits, which are located approximately 35 kilometres apart by road.

President and CEO Kiran Patankar said:

"The success of the Winter Program, together with the 2026 MRE, underscores Joutel's potential as a premier asset within our district-scale gold platform, and we are moving decisively to turn exploration success into meaningful resource growth. To support this work, we have launched an aggressive 25,000 m Fall Program backed by a strong treasury, a completed internal scoping study that is guiding our exploration and development decisions, and additional near-term catalysts across Douay/Joutel. We believe Maple Gold is well positioned to deliver value for shareholders as we continue to advance one of Québec's most compelling emerging gold districts."

Milestones and Next Steps

With the winter programme fully reported, Maple Gold's near-term activity centres on the 25,000 metre fall drill campaign, which is expected to generate a steady flow of assay results through the remainder of 2026. Outstanding areas of focus include infill and step-out drilling around the Eagle-Telbel area, Inferred-to-Indicated resource conversion in selected zones, and metallurgical test work supporting future development studies. The company is also continuing to report assay results from its broader 2026 Douay drill programme, with 14 of 68 holes reported to date.
