Rome Resources Continues Drilling Uninterrupted Despite Regional Unrest

Rome Resources maintains drilling at its DRC tin project despite regional unrest by relocating logistics and enhancing safety, with assay results pending.

  • Rome Resources' drilling at its Bisie North tin exploration project in the DRC continues uninterrupted despite nearby security issues.
  • The company has relocated its logistical base to Kisangani, 200km northwest of the project site, to ensure personnel safety and operational continuity. Enhanced security measures are in place to protect staff and contractors.
  • Assay results from the Mont Agoma MADD018 drill hole, where over 100m of visible copper was identified, are expected within 10 days.
  • Rome Resources remains focused on advancing exploration activities at Bisie North

Drilling Continues Uninterrupted

Rome reported in an operational update where the company's drilling operations at the Bisie North site continues uninterrupted, with transport to and from the site directly supported by BAC Helicopters. The Company has also implemented enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of its personnel and contractors.

To mitigate potential disruptions from regional unrest, particularly in Goma and along the Rwandan border, Rome has taken proactive steps:

"Following recent events in Goma and the uncertainty around Bukavu, the company has proactively relocated its logistical base for personnel and equipment transfers to Kisangani, the regional capital, located approximately 200km northwest of Bisie North.

This proactive move ensures continued operational stability while maintaining a safe distance from the unrest along the Rwandan border.

Upcoming Assay Results

Rome also provided an update on forthcoming exploration results and remains focused on advancing exploration activities and expects to announce further assay results from Bisie North within the next 10 days where over 100m of visible copper was identified. Assays from this significant intercept at Mont Agoma will provide important data on the potential scale of mineralisation.

Despite navigating a challenging regional security environment, Rome Resources remains resolute in responsibly advancing exploration efforts at Bisie North as stated in the update.

By implementing enhanced safety protocols and proactively adjusting its logistical base, the company is well-positioned to continue delivering regular operational progress updates as it systematically explores this highly prospective tin project.

For investors, Rome's ability to maintain drilling and operational momentum in the face of headwinds is a testament to the company's commitment to its DRC-focused tin strategy. With assays pending from a significant intercept at Mont Agoma and continued drilling underway, Rome is poised to deliver steady news flow as it advances Bisie North.

Tin Mineralisation at Kalayi Project in DRC

Rome Resources' exploration program remains fully funded following a £4.2M investment, allowing drilling to continue at both Kalayi and the Mont Agoma copper prospect. The company expects to release a maiden inferred mineral resource estimate for Kalayi in Q1 2025.

Three rigs continue drilling at Kalayi and Mont Agoma, with additional results anticipated soon, including assays from a hole that intersected over 100m of visible copper mineralisation at Mont Agoma.

The promising drill results from Kalayi, indicating potential for economic tin mineralisation, and the fully funded exploration program across both key projects, position Rome Resources well for continued progress. Investors should monitor upcoming assay results, particularly from deep drilling at Kalayi, and the maiden resource estimate expected in Q1 2025.
