  • FY27 guidance: Production guidance of 163,000 to 177,000 AuEq ounces is reaffirmed, with A$160 million to A$190 million budgeted for growth capital.

Alkane Resources (ASX:ALK; TSX:ALK; OTCQX:ALKRY) is an Australia-based gold and antimony producer with three wholly owned operating mines. Two are in Australia: Tomingley, an open pit and underground gold mine southwest of Dubbo in Central West New South Wales, and Costerfield, an underground gold and antimony mine northeast of Heathcote in Central Victoria. The third is Björkdal, an underground gold mine northwest of Skellefteå in northern Sweden, about 750 kilometres north of Stockholm.

Three Mines Deliver 40,740 AuEq Ounces in Q1 FY2027

Alkane produced 40,740 gold equivalent ounces (AuEq) in the September 2026 quarter, the first quarter of its 2027 financial year. AuEq is a single measure of total output. It converts antimony production into an equivalent amount of gold, using average market prices for the period.

Tomingley contributed 21,506 ounces, about 53% of group production, and Björkdal produced 10,482 ounces. Costerfield produced 7,835 ounces of gold and 396 tonnes of antimony, a combined 8,752 AuEq ounces. Of that total, about 917 AuEq ounces came from antimony.

Group sales for the quarter were 37,950 ounces of gold and 172 tonnes of antimony, or 38,348 AuEq ounces. Alkane delivered 7,800 ounces into hedges, which are contracts that fix the sale price of a set amount of gold in advance. A further 21,150 ounces remain to be delivered over the three quarters to June 2027. Average prices for the quarter were A$6,035 per ounce of gold and A$19,982 per tonne of antimony.

A$459 Million in Cash, Bullion and Investments After Maiden Dividend

At 30 September 2026, Alkane held A$440 million in cash and gold bullion, plus A$19 million in shares of other listed companies, for a total of A$459 million. The company also has an undrawn A$110 million revolving credit facility, a loan arrangement it can draw on, repay and redraw as needed. Including this facility, available liquidity is A$550 million.

Alkane has no debt other than A$16 million in equipment finance. Tax payments during the quarter totalled A$13 million.

The maiden dividend was paid in two parts. A$24 million was transferred to the share registry towards the end of September for payment to shareholders on 1 October 2026. The remaining A$3 million was transferred for TSX shareholders on 1 October 2026.

FY27 Guidance Reaffirmed With Growth Projects Under Way

Alkane has reaffirmed its FY27 guidance of 163,000 to 177,000 AuEq ounces. By mine, guidance is 78,000 to 84,000 ounces at Tomingley, 44,000 to 48,000 AuEq ounces at Costerfield and 41,000 to 45,000 ounces at Björkdal. The company is not aware of any new information that materially affects this guidance or its underlying assumptions.

Group all-in sustaining cost (AISC) guidance is A$2,900 to A$3,200 per AuEq ounce. AISC measures the full cost of producing each ounce, including the spending needed to keep the mines operating, but excludes growth projects.

FY27 is a year of reinvestment focused on extending mine lives. Growth capital of A$160 million to A$190 million includes A$90 million to A$100 million at Tomingley for the Newell Highway project, A$30 million to A$40 million at Costerfield for the Brunswick South development, and A$40 million to A$50 million at Björkdal to integrate Nylund and begin development at Storheden. Exploration is budgeted at A$45 million to A$53 million across the three mines, with a further A$10 million to A$12 million for Boda-Kaiser and other exploration.

Milestones and Next Steps

With the maiden dividend paid and FY27 guidance reaffirmed, Alkane’s focus for the remainder of the financial year is on reinvesting in its operations to extend mine lives. This includes advancing the Newell Highway project at Tomingley and the Brunswick South development at Costerfield, integrating Nylund and starting development at Storheden at Björkdal, and delivering the remaining hedged ounces by June 2027.
