Amex Exploration Seeks Regulatory Approval for Perron Bulk Sampling Programme

Amex submits regulatory application for bulk sampling programme at Perron gold project targeting Q1 2026 start date.

  • Filed ministerial authorisation request under Quebec's Environment Quality Act for underground bulk sampling at Perron project
  • Programme targets Champagne and Denise zones at 230-metre vertical depth
  • Bulk sample designed to validate resource estimates and test mining concepts
  • Norda Stelo retained for environmental studies and application preparation
  • 15-month mine preparation period required before material access

Amex Exploration Inc. (TSXV: AMX) is a gold mining exploration company, the primary objective of which is to acquire, explore, and develop viable gold projects in the mining-friendly jurisdiction of Quebec. The company operates the Perron Gold Project, located 110 kilometres north of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The company holds 117 contiguous claims covering 45.18 square kilometres at the main Perron property. When combined with the adjacent Perron West Project, the total land package spans 197.52 square kilometres across Quebec and Ontario. The project is accessible by year-round road and located 20 minutes from an airport and 8 kilometres from Normétal.

Underground Bulk Sample Permit Application

Amex submitted its ministerial authorisation request under Section 22, paragraph 1 of Quebec's Environment Quality Act to the Ministry of the Environment, the Fight Against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests. The application covers an underground bulk sampling programme at the Perron gold project.

The bulk sample will be collected from the Champagne and Denise zones at a vertical depth of approximately 230 metres. These zones represent two main orebodies on the Perron property. Amex retained Norda Stelo, an engineering firm, to conduct environmental studies and prepare the application package to meet regulatory requirements.

The company stated the bulk sample will "enhance the geological comprehension of the ore zones, validate parameters used in the resource estimate, confirm mining concepts and obtain mineralized material for large mineral processing and testing purposes." The programme is intended to address geological, technical and financial aspects of project development.

Implementation Timeline and Operations

Subject to regulatory approval, Amex expects to begin work in Q1 2026. The company estimates approximately 15 months of mine preparation and development will be required before accessing mineralised material for bulk sampling.

The preparation phase involves underground development to reach target zones. Once material becomes accessible, mining operations will extract bulk sample material. The extracted material will be transported to a processing plant using haul trucks.

The project location provides access to existing infrastructure, including proximity to milling operations operated by established gold producers. The year-round road access and regional infrastructure support the planned transportation and processing activities.

Regulatory Process and Next Steps

The application package has been submitted to Quebec government agencies for review. Amex awaits permit approval before proceeding with the bulk sampling programme. Upon approval, the company will begin the 15-month preparation phase, followed by material extraction and processing activities that will generate operational data for the Perron project.
