Amex Gold Mining Selects Underground Portal Contractor at Perron Bulk Sample Program

Amex Gold Mining Inc. has selected the contractor for its underground portal and begun construction, while the water treatment plant is installed at the Perron project in Quebec.

  • Amex Gold Mining has selected the contractor for the underground portal at its Perron Gold Project, with construction beginning the week of July 6, 2026
  • The water treatment plant has arrived on site, with installation underway and commissioning expected over the coming weeks
  • Multiple infrastructure pads across the site are complete or nearing completion
  • Mobilisation of the underground mining contractor is planned for late July 2026, following a tender process among three qualified contractors
  • Connection to Hydro Québec's grid is anticipated in late 2026 or early 2027

Amex Gold Mining Inc. (TSXV:AMX) is a Canada-based gold exploration and development company focused on its wholly owned Perron Gold Project, located approximately 110 kilometres north of Rouyn-Noranda in Quebec's Abitibi region. The company has reported high-grade gold discoveries at Perron alongside copper-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralisation, a type of metal deposit formed by ancient underwater hot springs. Perron covers 183 contiguous claims spanning 65.72 square kilometres, and when combined with the adjacent Perron West, Abbotsford, and Hepburn projects, the company's land package extends to 570.94 square kilometres. The project has year round road access, is located roughly 30 minutes from an airport, and is situated near processing plants operated by major gold producers.

Underground Portal Contractor Selection and Construction Commencement at Perron Bulk Sample Program

Amex Gold Mining has selected the contractor for the underground portal at Perron. Mobilisation activities are underway, with construction of the portal beginning the week of July 6, 2026. The portal will provide the access required for underground development and execution of the bulk sample program.

The selection followed the company's technical, commercial, and operational evaluation process. Construction of the portal is separate from the tender process for the underground mining contractor, which is discussed below.

The portal supports development, mining, and processing of approximately 40,000 tonnes of material from the Champagne Zone. This material is expected to provide technical, operational, and economic information for future project development decisions.

Water Treatment Plant Installation and Key Infrastructure Progress Supporting Environmental Management Strategy

The water treatment plant designated for the Perron site has arrived, and installation is underway. Commissioning is expected to take place over the coming weeks. The plant is designed to support water handling during execution of the bulk sample program.

Multiple infrastructure pads across the site have been completed or are nearing completion. Temporary office facilities and site services are also being installed as mobilisation activities continue.

President and Chief Executive Officer Victor Cantore said:

"The arrival of the water treatment plant and the selection of the portal contractor represent important milestones for the Perron bulk sample program. Over the past several months, our team has been focused on systematically developing the infrastructure required to safely and responsibly execute the project. With major site preparations progressing, portal construction expected to begin in early July, and key infrastructure now arriving on site, Perron continues to advance toward the next stage of development."

Underground Mining Contractor Mobilization Planned for Late July 2026

Amex Gold Mining conducted a competitive tender process for the underground mining contractor involving three qualified mining contractors. The company has completed its technical, commercial, and operational evaluation and is currently in contract negotiations with its preferred contractor. Further details are expected once negotiations are finalised.

Mobilisation of the underground mining contractor remains planned for late July 2026.

Recruitment and contractor mobilisation activities more broadly are also progressing, with several key personnel and service providers engaged to support site construction, environmental management, and future underground operations. Work on the project's permanent electrical infrastructure continues, with connection to Hydro Québec's grid anticipated in late 2026 or early 2027, which is expected to reduce the project's environmental footprint.

Milestones and Next Steps

Recent milestones include the selection of the underground portal contractor, the start of portal construction, and the arrival of the water treatment plant on site. Upcoming steps include finalising contract negotiations with the preferred underground mining contractor, its planned mobilisation in late July 2026, and commissioning of the water treatment plant in the coming weeks.
