Andrada Mining Reports Lithium Continuity at Depth and a New Mineralised Pegmatite at Lithium Ridge

Andrada’s latest Lithium Ridge drilling confirms lithium continuity at depth, a new pegmatite outside the main trend, and associated tin and tantalum.
- Thick Lithium Intersection: Drill hole LRD045 returned 34.90m at 1.02% Li2O from 184.42m, including 6.22m at 1.67% Li2O.
- Near-Surface Mineralisation: LRD060 returned 10.66m at 1.13% Li2O from 0.90m, including 4.79m at 2.04% Li2O.
- Higher-Grade Intervals: LRD042 returned 9.03m at 1.64% Li2O, including 5.44m at 1.84% Li2O, with multiple pegmatites exceeding 1.5% Li2O.
- New Pegmatite Confirmed: Holes LRD064, LRD066 and LRD072 intersected high-grade lithium in a pegmatite outside the main Lithium Ridge trendline.
- Tin and Tantalum Present: Localised zones include 1.03% tin in LRD061, 0.57% tin in LRD074 and 604 parts per million (ppm) tantalum in LRD045.
Andrada Mining Limited (AIM:ATM) is a Namibia-based tin producer with a portfolio of critical minerals mining and exploration assets. Its operations are built around three assets: the producing Uis tin mine, the Lithium Ridge lithium project advanced with SQM, and the Brandberg West tin and tungsten project developed in partnership with BWCAM. Through these assets, the company has exposure to tin, lithium, tungsten, copper and tantalum.
Fifth Batch High-Grade Lithium Drill Results Confirming Down-Dip Continuity and Structural Thickening Including LRD045 Returning 34.90m at 1.02% Li2O and LRD042 Returning 9.03m at 1.64% Li2O
Assay results for the fifth batch of diamond drill holes at the Lithium Ridge Project confirm down-dip continuity and structural thickening of the targeted pegmatite swarms. Pegmatites are coarse-grained rock bodies that can host lithium, while down-dip continuity means the mineralisation extends as the rock angles deeper underground.
Drill hole LRD045 intersected 34.90m at 1.02% Li2O from 184.42m, including 6.22m at 1.67% Li2O. LRD042 returned 9.03m at 1.64% Li2O from 63.83m, including 5.44m at 1.84% Li2O. Li2O, or lithium oxide, is the standard unit for reporting lithium grades, and “including” refers to a higher-grade section within a longer interval.
Mineralisation was also intersected close to surface, with LRD060 returning 10.66m at 1.13% Li2O from 0.90m, including 4.79m at 2.04% Li2O.
CEO Anthony Viljoen said:
“This fifth batch of results demonstrates the presence of high-grade intersections confirming that we are still uncovering the full potential of the Lithium Ridge licence. Multiple pegmatites in this batch have returned intersections exceeding 1.5% Li2O.”
New Pegmatite System Confirmed Beyond Main Lithium Ridge Trendline Across Multiple Holes Highlighting Licence-Wide Exploration Upside
Drilling has confirmed lithium mineralisation within a newly identified pegmatite located outside the main Lithium Ridge trendline. Holes LRD064, LRD066 and LRD072 each intersected consistent high-grade mineralisation within this pegmatite.
LRD066 returned 11.35m at 1.16% Li2O from 34.16m, including 4.64m at 1.79% Li2O, placing lithium mineralisation in the new pegmatite at a relatively shallow depth.
The confirmation of mineralisation beyond the main trend extends the areas of interest across the licence.
CEO Anthony Viljoen said:
“These results also confirm that newly identified pegmatites beyond the main mineralised trend at Lithium Ridge also contain substantial lithium mineralisation. This highlights the upside potential that remains to be explored across the licence.”
Pervasive Tin and Tantalum Polymetallic Mineralisation Across Pegmatite Bodies Supporting Multi-Revenue Stream Project Economics Under SQM Earn-In Partnership
Tin (Sn) and tantalum (Ta) mineralisation remains pervasive across the pegmatite bodies, making Lithium Ridge a polymetallic project, one that contains more than one potentially valuable metal. Localised zones include 0.25m at 1.03% Sn and 227ppm Ta in LRD061, 0.95m at 0.57% Sn in LRD074, and 0.36m at 604ppm Ta in LRD045.
The potential to produce several commodities from the same deposit could enhance overall project economics and improve the effective cost position of a future operation. These benefits remain subject to further metallurgical testwork, which examines how the metals can be recovered, and economic evaluation.
Lithium Ridge is being advanced under a strategic earn-in partnership with SQM International, part of one of the world’s leading lithium producers. In an earn-in arrangement, a partner gains an ownership interest in a project by funding agreed work programmes.
Milestones and Next Steps
The fifth batch adds to the drill dataset at Lithium Ridge, covering both the main trend and the newly identified pegmatite. Further metallurgical testwork and economic evaluation will be required to assess the contribution of lithium, tin and tantalum to project economics, as Andrada continues to advance Lithium Ridge with SQM.
