Canada Nickel Continues Strong Drilling Results Across Three Key Properties at Timmins District

Canada Nickel reports strong drilling at Reid, Mann West, Deloro; six resource estimates due by June 2025 across Timmins District properties.

  • Canada Nickel delivered impressive drilling results at Reid, Mann West and Deloro properties, with Reid showing 0.27% nickel over 711 metres including higher-grade zones of 0.45% nickel over 39 metres.
  • Mann West drilling has been completed with final results showing 0.33% nickel over 52 metres, positioning the project for an initial resource estimate expected in June 2025.
  • Deloro property demonstrated shallow mineralization starting just 6 metres below surface, with 0.38% nickel over 48 metres supporting resource upgrade plans by year-end 2025.
  • The company expects to publish six resource estimates by end of June 2025, with three additional resources planned through the remainder of the year across the Timmins Nickel District.
  • Updated resource estimates are planned for both Reid and Deloro properties by year-end 2025, supported by successful infill drilling programs that demonstrate mineralization continuity.

Canada Nickel Company Inc. (TSXV:CNC) continues to advance its strategic position in the Timmins Nickel District through systematic exploration and resource development across multiple properties. The company is developing next-generation nickel-sulphide projects to serve the growing electric vehicle and stainless steel markets, with a focus on low political risk jurisdictions in Canada.

The latest drilling results from Reid, Mann West and Deloro properties demonstrate the continued potential of Canada Nickel's land package in the prolific Timmins-Cochrane mining camp. With the company's flagship Crawford Nickel-Cobalt Sulphide Project already established, these additional properties represent significant value creation opportunities for investors seeking exposure to critical battery metals.

Reid Project Delivers Exceptional Continuity

The Reid Project continues to demonstrate impressive mineralization continuity following the publication of its initial mineral resource in late 2024. Recent drilling results have confirmed both the overall mineralization envelope and higher-grade zones that could support resource expansion.

The standout result from the Reid drilling program came from hole REI25-70, which intersected 0.27% nickel over 711 metres, including 0.45% nickel over 39 metres within 0.37% nickel over 120 metres. This exceptional intercept demonstrates the scale and grade continuity that characterizes the Reid deposit.

In a news release, CEO Mark Selby emphasized the significance of these results, stating:

"The Timmins Nickel District continues to deliver excellent exploration results from Reid, Mann West and Deloro. We look forward to initial resources from three of our projects (Mann West, Mann Central, and Texmont) in June 2025."

The Reid property consists of a large serpentinized ultramafic intrusion comprising mainly dunite and minor peridotite with multiple intervals of higher-grade nickel mineralization. The drilling program targeted both the main mineralized area and the Central Dyke Corridor, with twenty-eight additional drillholes completed in spring 2025.

Another significant intercept from hole REI24-59 returned 0.27% nickel over 620.0 metres, including 0.38% nickel over 21.0 metres within 178.0 metres of 0.30% nickel. These results confirm the continuity of higher-grade horizons oriented west-northwest to east-southeast.

Mann West Completes Drilling Program

The Mann West property has reached a significant milestone with the completion of its drilling program, positioning the project for resource estimation. Located 22 kilometres east of Crawford, the property is 80% owned by Canada Nickel and 20% by Noble Mineral Exploration through East Timmins Nickel Ltd.

Mann West covers approximately 3.5 kilometres in length by up to 1.1 kilometres in width, encompassing 3.4 square kilometres. The drilling program focused on the southern half of the target and achieved coverage over a strike length of 1.7 kilometres and a width of at least 600 metres.

The final drilling results from Mann West included a notable intercept in hole MAN24-65 of 0.33% nickel over 52 metres within 480 metres of 0.27% nickel. The drilling encountered well-serpentinized peridotite and minor dunite with disseminated and visible nickel sulphide mineralization, primarily consisting of pentlandite and heazlewoodite.

Canada Nickel completed a total of 39 holes at Mann West, with 31 drilled during the 2024 campaign. The company is currently working on an initial resource estimate expected in June 2025, which will provide investors with the first quantified assessment of Mann West's economic potential.

Deloro Shows Promise with Shallow Mineralization

The Deloro property continues to demonstrate attractive characteristics for potential development, particularly its shallow overburden and consistent mineralization. The company produced the first resource for Deloro in summer 2024, and recent infill drilling supports plans for a resource update by year-end 2025.

Key results from the Deloro drilling program include hole DEL24-35, which returned 0.38% nickel over 48 metres within 347 metres of 0.26% nickel, with mineralization starting at just 6 metres below surface. This shallow mineralization profile could translate to lower mining costs and simplified development scenarios.

Another impressive result came from hole DEL24-40, which intersected 0.26% nickel over 411.0 metres with mineralization starting only 2 metres below surface. This demonstrates the consistency of the mineralization envelope and the potential for low-strip ratio mining operations.

Selby highlighted the significance of the shallow mineralization:

"Deloro continues to deliver excellent intervals with shallow overburden. The results will support conversion of potential resources at both projects, and we expect to publish updated resources by year-end 2025."

Canada Nickel drilled an additional 21 holes in late fall 2024 to infill and upgrade the existing Deloro resource, with only one drillhole remaining to be completed.

Resource Development Timeline

Canada Nickel has established a clear timeline for resource development across its Timmins District properties. The company expects to publish six resources by the end of June 2025, including initial estimates for Mann West, Mann Central, and Texmont properties.

Selby expressed confidence in the development trajectory:

"I am excited by our ongoing and clear demonstration of the potential of the Timmins Nickel District, with six resources to be published by the end of June and three additional resources to be published through the remainder of 2025."

The resource development program includes updated estimates for both Reid and Deloro by year-end 2025, supported by the recent infill drilling programs. These updates are expected to demonstrate resource growth and potentially upgrade resource categories from Inferred to Indicated or Measured classifications.

For Investors

Canada Nickel's systematic approach to resource development across the Timmins District positions the company to capitalize on growing demand for critical battery metals. The combination of consistent drilling results, shallow mineralization at Deloro, and the scale demonstrated at Reid provides multiple pathways for value creation.

The planned resource publications through 2025 will provide investors with quantified assessments of the company's asset base beyond the flagship Crawford project. With six resources expected by end of June and three additional resources through the remainder of 2025, Canada Nickel is building a substantial inventory of nickel assets in a proven mining jurisdiction.

For investors seeking exposure to the electric vehicle supply chain and critical minerals sector, Canada Nickel offers leverage to nickel in a low political risk jurisdiction. The company's focus on developing processes for net zero carbon nickel, cobalt, and iron products aligns with the growing emphasis on sustainable mining practices in the battery metals sector.
