Cassiar Gold Discovers High-Grade Gold Veining at Newcoast, Advances Mill Evaluation Strategy

Drilling reveals visible gold intercepts and extends mineralized corridor as company evaluates infrastructure advantages at historic Cassiar South operations.

  • Discovery of new visible gold-bearing quartz veining at Newcoast prospect returned 176.50 g/t gold over 0.3 metres within 15.7 metres of 3.80 g/t gold
  • All 11 drill holes at Newcoast intersected broad mineralized zones exceeding 0.4 g/t gold
  • Drilling extended known mineralization along a 4-kilometre corridor, with intercepts including 167.5 metres of 0.42 g/t gold and 89.2 metres of 0.71 g/t gold
  • Company initiating assessment of past-producing underground mines at Cassiar South that historically yielded 315,000 ounces at 10-20 g/t gold head grades
  • Evaluation underway for potential mill refurbishment and tailings reprocessing at existing permitted on-site facility

Cassiar Gold Corp. (TSXV: GLDC) is a mineral acquisition and exploration company in Canada advancing its 590-square-kilometre Cassiar Gold Property in northern British Columbia. The project comprises Cassiar North, which hosts the Taurus deposit with indicated resources of 410,000 ounces at 1.43 g/t gold and inferred resources of 1.93 million ounces at 0.95 g/t gold, and Cassiar South, which contains historical high-grade underground workings and exploration targets. The company also holds interests in the Sheep Creek gold camp near Salmo, British Columbia.

New High-Grade Visible Gold Discovery Extends Newcoast Mineralized Corridor

The 2025 drilling programme at the Newcoast prospect, located 2 kilometres southeast of the Taurus deposit, comprised 11 holes totalling 5,243 metres. The programme expanded a mineralized zone first identified in 2023, with all drill holes encountering mineralization above 0.4 g/t gold.

Drill hole 25NC-017 intersected multiple occurrences of visible gold within quartz veining, returning 176.50 g/t gold over 0.3 metres within a broader 15.7-metre zone averaging 3.80 g/t gold. This new mineralized structure was identified whilst targeting previously untested geophysical anomalies. The visible gold occurred in quartz veins hosted within iron-carbonate-sericite altered basalt with sulphide mineralization.

Hole 25NC-018 returned 17.20 g/t gold over 0.3 metres within a 5.1-metre interval averaging 1.36 g/t gold along northeast-trending structural corridors across the 4-kilometre Newcoast trend.

Broad Mineralized Intercepts Across Prospect

The drilling programme reduced gaps between previous drill holes to within 50-100 metres. Drill hole 25NC-019 delivered multiple intersections, including 22.5 metres of 3.52 g/t gold containing 42.41 g/t gold over 1.6 metres, with 51.68 g/t gold over 1.2 metres. This hole tested near-surface potential and infilled a 250-metre gap in previous drilling.

Hole 25NC-010 encountered 89.2 metres grading 0.71 g/t gold, including 43.5 metres of 1.12 g/t gold. Hole 25NC-013 intersected 167.5 metres of 0.42 g/t gold at greater depths than previously tested at Newcoast.

Marco Roque, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cassiar Gold, stated:

"We are pleased with the final results of the 2025 drill program. Intercepts at Newcoast further validate our belief that the Cassiar Gold property continues to offer considerable untapped regional potential. From a business perspective, as we continue to advance our priority exploration targets, we are looking forward to broadening our focus in 2026 to highlight our project's unique advantages amid record gold prices, including established infrastructure and valuable optionality from past-producing high-grade mines."

Mill Refurbishment And High-Grade Strategy Assessment

The company has begun assessing unmined higher-grade mineralization at Cassiar South associated with past-producing vein systems. Historical underground mines in the area yielded approximately 315,000 ounces of gold at average head grades between 10 and 20 g/t gold. The company will examine whether this material could be processed through the existing permitted milling facility on site.

The work includes evaluating the feasibility of refurbishing the on-site mill. Historical underground operations at Cassiar South exploited high-grade orogenic gold veins, and the company plans to apply modern exploration techniques and mining methods to access additional mineralization.

The company is also evaluating previous testing programmes at a historical tailings management facility at Cassiar South. Further metallurgical testing will establish gold recovery potential. Metallurgical work for the Taurus deposit is underway with results pending.

Outlook And Next Steps

The technical team is integrating the 2025 programme results into planning for the upcoming field season, which will include field investigations and drill targeting. The mill refurbishment and high-grade strategy assessments at Cassiar South mark a new phase alongside ongoing exploration work. The Taurus deposit contains 91 per cent of ounces within 150 metres of surface. The company continues advancing exploration across its district-scale land position whilst evaluating infrastructure opportunities at Cassiar South.
