Kodiak Copper Files Technical Report for MPD Mineral Resource Estimate

Kodiak Copper files NI 43-101 technical report for initial mineral resource estimate at its wholly owned MPD copper-gold project in British Columbia.

  • NI 43-101 technical report filed on SEDAR+ covering initial mineral resource estimate across seven deposits at the MPD project
  • Indicated resources of 82.9 million tonnes grading 0.39% copper equivalent containing 519 million pounds of copper and 0.39 million ounces of gold
  • Inferred resources of 356.3 million tonnes grading 0.32% copper equivalent containing 1,889 million pounds of copper and 1.28 million ounces of gold
  • Resource estimate based on 0.2% copper equivalent cut-off grade with sensitivity analysis at cut-off grades ranging from 0.12% to 0.22%
  • 2026 work programme includes metallurgical testing (Q1), resource expansion drilling (Q2 onwards), and exploration of new targets

Kodiak Copper Corp. (TSX-V: KDK, OTCQX: KDKCF) is a Canadian junior exploration company focused on copper-gold porphyry projects in Canada and the United States. The company's primary asset is the 100% owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project located in the Quesnel Terrane in south-central British Columbia. The region is an established mining area with existing mines and infrastructure.

Technical Report Filed Supporting Initial Resource Estimate

Kodiak Copper has filed an independent NI 43-101 technical report on SEDAR+ supporting the initial mineral resource estimate at the MPD copper-gold project. The report was prepared by qualified persons Alfonso Rodriguez of Apex Geoscience Ltd., James Gray of Advantage Geoservices Ltd., and Shane Tad Crowie of JDS Energy and Mining Inc. The effective date of the report is June 25, 2025. The resource estimate used a base case cut-off grade of 0.2% copper equivalent within optimised pit shells.

The technical report employed metal prices of US$4.20 per pound for copper, US$2,600 per ounce for gold, and US$30 per ounce for silver. Metallurgical recoveries used in the pit optimisation were 82% for copper, 60% for gold, and 54% for silver. Mining costs were estimated at C$2.30 per tonne, processing costs at C$8.50 per tonne, with a pit slope of 45 degrees and an exchange rate of 1.35 CAD:USD. The copper equivalency equation applied was: CuEq(%) = Cu(%) + Au(g/t) x 0.6606 + Ag(g/t) x 0.0069.

The resource estimate encompasses seven deposits: West, Adit, South, Gate, Ketchan, Man, and Dillard. According to the company, the estimate shows the scale and potential of MPD and lays the foundation for future resource growth and development. The report is publicly accessible on SEDAR+ and the company's website. The mineral resources are not mineral reserves and do not have demonstrated economic viability.

Resource Inventory Across Seven Deposits

The mineral resource estimate defines indicated resources of 82.9 million tonnes grading 0.39% copper equivalent, containing 519 million pounds of copper and 0.39 million ounces of gold. Inferred resources total 356.3 million tonnes grading 0.32% copper equivalent, containing 1,889 million pounds of copper and 1.28 million ounces of gold. The indicated resources are concentrated in the Gate, West, and South zones, where drill hole spacing supports higher confidence classification.

The resource estimate includes sensitivity analysis at different cut-off grades. At 0.22% copper equivalent, indicated resources are 73.4 million tonnes grading 0.42% copper equivalent, with inferred resources of 297.5 million tonnes grading 0.34% copper equivalent. At 0.12% copper equivalent, indicated resources increase to 120.6 million tonnes grading 0.31% copper equivalent, with inferred resources of 657.1 million tonnes grading 0.24% copper equivalent. These sensitivity cases are for comparison purposes only and should not be considered mineral resources.

The Gate zone contains 56.4 million tonnes of indicated resources and 114.5 million tonnes of inferred resources. The Ketchan zone has 66.0 million tonnes of inferred resources, while Dillard contains 51.9 million tonnes of inferred resources. The West zone includes 14.2 million tonnes of indicated resources and 24.7 million tonnes of inferred resources. The South zone comprises 12.3 million tonnes of indicated resources and 70.9 million tonnes of inferred resources. The Adit zone contains 20.1 million tonnes of inferred resources, and the Man zone has 8.3 million tonnes of inferred resources.

2026 Exploration Programme and Resource Expansion

According to the company, all deposits remain open for expansion within and beyond the mineral resource estimate pit shells. Kodiak's 2026 work programme focuses on resource growth. The company plans to test underexplored targets on the MPD property that may represent opportunities to discover new mineralised zones.

The 2026 work programme includes several components. Metallurgical test results are expected in Q1, along with soil results and drill targets. Resource expansion drilling is scheduled to begin in Q2 and continue through the year. Exploration drilling to test new targets will also commence in Q2. Geophysical programmes are planned for Q2 onwards. The company expects to release a resource update in Q1 2027. Ongoing work includes structural studies, environmental baseline studies, and engagement with Indigenous rightsholders and local stakeholders.

The MPD project is located in the Quesnel Terrane in south-central British Columbia. The initial mineral resource estimate published in 2025 outlines seven deposits. According to the company, all known deposits remain open to expansion, and numerous targets across the property have yet to be tested. Kodiak states it continues to explore MPD's district-scale potential.

Next Steps

Kodiak's 2026 work programme includes metallurgical test results and soil results in Q1. Resource expansion drilling and exploration drilling of new targets will begin in Q2. Geophysical programmes are also scheduled for Q2 onwards. The company plans to release a resource update in Q1 2027. Environmental baseline studies and engagement with Indigenous rightsholders and local stakeholders are ongoing.
