Li-FT Power Initiates Exploration at Promising Lithium Project in Canada's Northwest Territories

Li-FT Power initiates exploration at its promising CALI Lithium Project. With lithium demand surging, the company offers speculative upside potential for investors seeking early-stage lithium exposure.
About Li-FT Power
Li-FT Power Ltd. (CSE: LIFT) (OTCQX: LIFFF) (Frankfurt: WS0) is a mineral exploration company focused on acquiring, exploring and developing lithium pegmatite projects in Canada. The company's flagship asset is the Yellowknife Lithium Project in the Northwest Territories. Li-FT Power also holds the early-stage CALI lithium project and three other properties in Quebec with potential for buried lithium pegmatites.
Exploration Begins at CALI Lithium Project
On August 22, 2023, Li-FT Power announced the start of exploration activities at its fully-owned CALI Lithium Project in the Little Nahanni Pegmatite Group in western Northwest Territories. The property hosts spodumene pegmatite dykes at the northern end of a 13 km long pegmatite dyke trend.

Previous mapping shows the dykes outcrop over 500 metres of strike length and 300 metres of vertical extent. They occur as parallel dykes in corridors up to 100 metres wide. Float mapping suggests the actual strike length could be up to 1,100 metres as the dykes continue under cover.
The current exploration program aims to better define grades across the known 300 metre vertical exposure through rock sampling and mapping. prospecting will also search for extensions of the dykes onto the property from the south through detailed soil sampling.
Significant Lithium Potential
During a June site visit, Li-FT Power's management was very encouraged by the extensive spodumene-bearing boulders observed on surface. The spodumene percentages appeared quite high, suggesting the potential for excellent grades from sampling.
The CEO stated "The extent of this spodumene pegmatite dyke swarm is impressive and we believe there is excellent potential at the CALI project to demonstrate a large spodumene resource that is also relatively close to transportation infrastructure.”
The project is located only 6 km from the Howard's Pass access road and 50 km from the past-producing Cantung lithium mine.
Advancing the Project
Exploration results will be integrated into a 3D geology model to refine targeting and drill planning. Li-FT Power is currently finalizing permits for a fuller exploration and drill program in 2024.
The goal is to ultimately define a mineral resource on the property that could support future mine development. The Northwest Territories is considered an attractive and stable mining jurisdiction.
Lithium Market Outlook
Global lithium demand is expected to expand dramatically in the coming decade, driven largely by electric vehicle and energy storage applications. In 2022, lithium prices surged over 280% due to tight supply and surging demand.
Major auto manufacturers worldwide are committing billions to new EV production capacity. Meanwhile, grid-storage installations are rising exponentially as renewables expand their share of power generation.
With few new lithium projects coming on stream, supply shortfalls are anticipated over the next several years. This supply-demand imbalance will likely keep lithium prices elevated through at least the end of the decade.
Risks & Opportunities
As with any early-stage exploration company, significant risks come with the substantial upside potential.
Risks
- Exploration projects have inherent uncertainty and the CALI project’s lithium grades/size are still unproven
- Additional exploration work required to verify economic potential
- Development costs could potentially exceed budgets
- No guarantee of converting resources into reserves or production
Opportunities
- Early-stage entry provides maximum upside if exploration successfully defines an economic deposit
- Tight lithium supply dynamics support strong long-term pricing
- Forecast growth in lithium demand from EVs and energy storage bodes well for project economics if developed
- Speculative potential for major discovery and resource expansion, which could generate enormous returns for early investors
- Chance to acquire position before market recognizes potential upside
Summary
With lithium demand expected to skyrocket over the next decade, early-stage lithium explorers represent a compelling speculative opportunity. Li-FT Power is still in the early exploration stages at its CALI Lithium Project. Positive initial results suggest strong potential, but the company remains under the radar. As exploration continues, significant assay results or resource estimates could draw attention and drive share price appreciation. Investing at this early point maximizes upside potential before the market catches on. Additionally, with lithium prices already at record highs, there is minimal commodity price risk. The outlook appears strong for both lithium demand and pricing. Therefore, Li-FT Power offers investors an intriguing speculative buy at a still inexpensive valuation before further de-risking of the asset.
