Flying Nickel - Bringing a Major Nickel Asset into Production

Flying Nickel's advanced Minago nickel project boasts over $40M invested & completed feasibility study. Poised to be one of the first new nickel mines amid supply deficit forecasts.

About Flying Nickel

Flying Nickel Corporation (TSXV: FLYN) is a Canada-based mineral resource company focused on advancing its flagship Minago nickel project towards production to capitalize on the growing demand for nickel driven by the electric vehicle revolution. With over $40 million invested to date and a completed feasibility study, Flying Nickel is one of the most advanced nickel juniors in Canada.

Interview with Chief Executive Officer, John Lee

Highlights of the Minago Project

The Minago project, located in Manitoba's prolific Thompson nickel belt, hosts over 1 billion pounds of nickel resources and has district scale exploration potential. The large land package covers over 19,500 hectares with year-round road access in a mining-friendly jurisdiction with established infrastructure.

Key advantages of Minago highlighted by CEO John Lee include:

  • Immediate access to power, water, and transportation infrastructure lowers capex requirements
  • Location in Manitoba allows access to some of the greenest and lowest cost hydropower in the world
  • Laterite deposit suitable for lower cost heap leach processing unlike most nickel juniors focused on higher cost sulfide deposits
  • Potential by-product credits from platinum group metals with ongoing assay results pending

With over $40 million invested and an existing feasibility study, Minago is poised to be one of the first new nickel projects to come online before higher cost sulfide deposits. The project has also attracted cornerstone institutional investment from SPARTA Capital and Blackstone Minerals.

Seasoned Management Team to Execute

CEO John Lee brings over 20 years of mining investment and executive experience to Flying Nickel. With a background spanning global mine finance, development, and exploration, Lee has raised over $150 million in previous ventures and has expertise in nickle. The rest of the Flying Nickel team brings additional operational, technical, and capital market experience.

While the team doesn't have mine building experience yet, Lee emphasized keeping financing options open depending on market conditions. The company could look to partner with a larger miner to leverage their balance sheet and technical strengths in developing Minago. Lee also highlighted Flying Nickel's proven ability to creatively structure project financing while minimizing shareholder dilution.

Strong Nickel Market Fundamentals

Despite softness in junior mining equities, Lee remains bullish on nickel fundamentals long term. Major miners like Glencore have approached Flying Nickel expressing nickel supply deficit concerns post-2023/2024. Demand is expected to accelerate with the EV revolution and move away from Russian nickel supply. Lee believes the market will remain in deficit through at least 2030.

Laterite nickel deposits like Minago will be needed earlier in the cycle before more expensive sulfide projects come online. Lee also noted lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries will be complementary to nickel demand in higher performance EV applications. Given Minago's advanced status, Flying Nickel is positioned as one of the earliest potential new nickel suppliers globally.

Conclusion

With approximately 70 million shares outstanding and over $40 million invested to date, current valuations present a compelling entry point for investors seeking leveraged nickel exposure. As Flying Nickel continues to de-risk Minago through ongoing exploration and development milestones, the market should start to recognize the potential of this strategic North American nickel asset.
