Global Lithium Resources Aiming to be Next Major Player in Lithium Market

  • Global Lithium Resources has two projects in Western Australia with a 54 million ton resource graded at 1.09% Li2O. The company has strategic partnerships with Mineral Resources and Canmax (formerly Suzhou TA&A), the world’s largest LiOH producers.
  • Possessing a scalable world-class resource in a secure investment location.
  • A growth-focused team with strong technical and commercial skills with emphasis on project development and de-risking.

Global Lithium Resources (ASX: GL1) is an emerging lithium producer focused on developing its 100% owned Manna Lithium and Rare Earths Project located in Western Australia. With its large-scale resource, strong project economics, experienced team, and strategic partners, Global Lithium represents an attractive investment opportunity in the fast-growing lithium market.

The Manna Project hosts a JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate of 36 million tonnes at 1.13% Li2O, positioning it as one of the largest hard rock lithium resources in Australia. Importantly, the resource remains open along strike and at depth, providing excellent potential to significantly expand the resource. The project benefits from shallow, outcropping mineralization that is amenable to open-pit mining. It also contains high quality spodumene concentrate with low impurities, as indicated by initial metallurgical test work. Located just 100km from Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields region of WA, the project has excellent access to infrastructure, including an operating railway line just 13km away, enabling the transport of products to the port. The region also hosts abundant grid power, water, roads and an experienced local workforce.

Global Lithum is advancing Manna on an aggressive development timeline, with the aim of commencing production within the next 2-3 years. The company is currently working towards completing a 500,000 tpa Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) Pre-Feasibility Study, in tandem with a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) with the results expected in Q1 2024, and Final Investment Decision (FID) in 2024.

Key Upcoming Milestones

  • 50,000m resource expansion and infill drilling program underway, with results to feed into an upgraded resource estimate in 2024
  • Completion of extensive metallurgical test work to finalize process flowsheet design
  • Ore reserve estimate due in coming months
  • Targeting regulatory approvals and Native Title agreement by mid 2024

The rapid development plan leverages the project's favourable characteristics, putting Global Lithium on track to capitalize on forecast lithium supply shortages within a very short timeframe.

Highly Experienced Team to Drive Development

Global Lithium has assembled an accomplished board and management team to lead the development of Manna. This includes highly respected mining executive Geoff Jones as Non-Executive Chairman, bringing over 40 years of technical and commercial experience.

The operations and development team is headed up by Dr Tony Chamberlain, an experienced Project Director with +30 years experience in the resurces sector. Ron Mitchell the Managing Director has over 14 years experience in the lithium sector and is the inaugural Chair of the LME Lithium Committee, the management team has over 180 years of relevant industry experience spanning technical, commercial and financial disciplines.

Attractive Strategic Partnerships

Global Lithium has attracted two high-profile strategic investors at the project level - Mineral Resources Limited, Australia’s largest contract miner, and Canmax, one of China’s largest lithium chemical producers. These partnerships provide Global Lithium with extra financial strength, technical expertise, and crucially, a ready-made customer for its lithium production. Canmax's offtake support also serves to de-risk project funding.

Rare Earth Discovery Adds Further Upside

In addition to its core lithium focus, Global Lithium has made a significant rare earth discovery at Manna. While early stage, this provides blue sky upside potential on top of the company’s fundamental lithium investment case. Global Lithium is progressing with exploration to delineate an initial rare earth resource estimate.

For Investors

  • Exposure to the lithium market, which is forecast to see exponential growth in demand driven by the global electric vehicle and energy storage revolution
  • A world-class lithium asset with near-term production potential
  • A clear pathway to develop the project rapidly within WA’s stable and low-risk mining jurisdiction
  • Backing of strategic partners and a highly experienced team with a track record of success
  • Rare earth discovery providing further upside potential

With these attributes combined at an asset, company and macro level, Global Lithium shapes a compelling lithium investment opportunity. The company appears well-positioned to generate strong shareholder returns as it transitions to lithium production.
