Omai Gold Reports High-Grade Results from East Wenot Drilling

East Wenot drilling returns 11.07 g/t gold over 14.7 metres, part of 35,300-metre 2025 programme ahead of planned early 2026 resource update.

  • East Wenot hole 25ODD-142 intersected 11.07 g/t gold over 14.7 metres, including 34.31 g/t gold over 4.3 metres at 240-metre vertical depth
  • Central Wenot hole 25ODD-145W returned 13.54 g/t gold over 13.3 metres, including 27.82 g/t gold over 6.2 metres
  • Company completed 79 drill holes totalling 35,300 metres in 2025, with 30 holes (13,250 metres) at Wenot post-August resource estimate
  • Updated mineral resource estimate planned for early 2026, followed by preliminary economic assessment in first half 2026
  • Camp Zone results identified gold mineralisation along 450-metre strike at vertical depths less than 200 metres

Omai Gold Mines Corp. (TSXV: OMG) (OTCQB: OMGGF) is a Canadian exploration and development company focused on expanding two orogenic gold deposits at its wholly owned Omai Gold Project in Guyana, South America. The August 2025 mineral resource estimate reported 970,000 ounces indicated at 1.46 g/t gold and 3,717,000 ounces inferred at 1.82 g/t gold at Wenot. Including the adjacent Gilt Creek deposit, the global resource totals 2,121,000 ounces indicated at 2.07 g/t gold and 4,382,000 ounces inferred at 1.95 g/t gold. The project is located at the historic Omai Gold Mine site, which produced 3.7 million ounces between 1993 and 2005.

High-Grade Drilling Results at East Wenot and Central Wenot Deposits

At East Wenot, hole 25ODD-142 intersected 11.07 g/t gold over 14.7 metres at approximately 240-metre vertical depth, primarily within a hematitised felsic dike that merges with the central quartz feldspar porphyry unit. Hole 25ODD-146, drilled 30 metres above, returned 1.02 g/t gold over 16.1 metres within the central quartz feldspar porphyry. Historical drilling by Placer Dome in the early 1990s intersected similar mineralisation updip, including 3.66 g/t gold over 7.9 metres and 7.58 g/t gold over 3.0 metres at depths less than 130 metres.

Hole 25ODD-144, located 250 metres west of hole 142, intersected 1.11 g/t gold over 31.6 metres within the main dike corridor, along with 0.98 g/t gold over 12.0 metres and 0.99 g/t gold over 13.0 metres within the sediments. The drilling tested mineralisation continuity in an area with limited historical coverage at East Wenot.

In central Wenot, hole 25ODD-145W intersected 13.54 g/t gold over 13.3 metres within the central quartz feldspar porphyry and adjacent altered diorite dikes, including 27.82 g/t gold over 6.2 metres and 63.17 g/t gold over 2.2 metres. Further downhole, the dike corridor returned 2.01 g/t gold over 15.0 metres.

President and CEO Elaine Ellingham stated:

"The intersection of 13.54 g/t Au over 13.3m in hole 145w illustrates Wenot's potential for a very robust open pit mine plan."

2025 Drilling Programme Completion and Resource Update Planning

The company completed 79 diamond drill holes totalling 35,300 metres across the property in 2025. Of these, 30 holes representing 13,250 metres at Wenot were completed after the August 2025 mineral resource estimate and will be incorporated into an updated estimate planned for early 2026. This update will precede a revised preliminary economic assessment expected in the first half of 2026.

Five drill rigs remain active at Wenot, focusing on areas that may expand the resource and optimise the upcoming preliminary economic assessment. The drilling approach targets the southern sedimentary sequence whilst extending holes northward through the central quartz feldspar porphyry and dike corridor zones. This strategy aims to test for additional mineralisation and upgrade portions of the inferred resource to the indicated category.

President and CEO Ellingham commented:

"We greatly accelerated drilling this year at Omai and set a goal of completing an additional 10,000m of drilling on Wenot prior to year end and are pleased to announce that we have already exceeded this goal."

Results remain pending for the majority of these holes. The April 2024 baseline preliminary economic assessment included less than 30% of the current mineral resource estimate.

Satellite Target Exploration Results at BBH and Camp Zone

At the BBH target, seven drill holes totalling 1,240 metres tested a 600-metre trend. Recent holes 25ODD-139 and 25ODD-141 intersected 1.62 g/t gold over 1.3 metres at 100-metre depth and 0.81 g/t gold over 1.2 metres at 144-metre depth. Previous drilling in 2021 intersected 1.70 g/t gold over 7.5 metres and 3.15 g/t gold over 3.0 metres, whilst 2022 trenching returned six samples exceeding 6 g/t gold, including three above 10 g/t gold. The company stated the seven-hole programme will assist in planning additional drilling once new data is incorporated.

At Camp Zone, seven drill holes totalling 2,931 metres identified gold mineralisation along a 450-metre strike. Hole 25ODD-140 returned 2.63 g/t gold over 5.5 metres, including 6.06 g/t gold over 2.3 metres, at vertical depths less than 70 metres. Previously reported results include 2.72 g/t gold over 16.3 metres in hole 25ODD-135 at vertical depths less than 200 metres. Hole 25ODD-143, collared 70 metres south of hole 135, intersected 0.40 g/t gold over 3.8 metres and 0.49 g/t gold over 1.5 metres at vertical depths less than 85 metres.

Camp Zone is located 300 to 500 metres west of Wenot along the Wenot Shear Corridor, where the central quartz feldspar porphyry appears offset or splayed northward from the main Wenot trend. The company stated that results from the seven-hole programme were positive and indicated at least one or two zones that will be pursued in early 2026.

Next Steps

The company plans to release an updated mineral resource estimate in early 2026 incorporating over 13,000 metres of additional drilling at Wenot, followed by an updated preliminary economic assessment in the first half of 2026. Follow-up drilling is underway at the newly identified zone at East Wenot. Five rigs remain active on the property, with results pending for the majority of recently completed holes. Additional drilling at Camp Zone and BBH will be planned once new data is incorporated into geological models.
