Amex Exploration Outlines 100,000m Drilling Program for 2026

Amex announces up to 100,000m drilling program for 2026 across Perron projects while completing 10,000m program at Eastern Gold Zone before year-end.
- Up to 100,000 metres of drilling planned across Perron and Perron West projects in 2026, described by the company as one of the most aggressive programs for a junior developer in Canada
- 10,000 metres of drilling underway in late 2025 at the Eastern Gold Zone, testing extensions of Champagne, Team, and Central Polymetallic zones
- 2026 program fully budgeted and will target resource expansion at Perron and regional targets across 200.3 square kilometre land package
- All zones within the Eastern Gold Zone remain open for expansion, including Champagne, Denise, Team, E2, JT, and Alizée zones
- Resource conversion drilling for Phase 2 Feasibility Study planned to commence in 2027
Amex Exploration Inc. (TSXV: AMX) is a gold exploration company with a 100% owned Perron Gold Project located approximately 110 kilometres north of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The company has made high-grade gold discoveries and identified copper-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide zones at the property. When combined with the adjacent Perron West Project in Ontario, the company controls 218 claims covering 20,030 hectares across both provinces. The project is accessible by year-round road, located 20 minutes from an airport and approximately eight kilometres from the Town of Normétal.
2026 Drilling Program Planning with Up to 100,000m Planned
Amex has announced a fully budgeted exploration program for 2026 involving up to 100,000 metres of drilling across its Perron Project in Quebec and Perron West Project in Ontario. The program will focus on expanding the existing resource at Perron and testing new regional targets across the company's land holdings.
The drilling will address two objectives: growing known resources and testing new discoveries.
Aaron Stone, Vice President of Exploration commented:
"I have an enviable exploration budget for the coming year to build on the existing high value ounces at Perron as well as make new discoveries on our vastly expanded land package. We truly believe that we are still at the beginning in terms of the ounces to be discovered on the Normétal-Burntbush greenstone belt which has historically been very underexplored for gold."
The company notes the Normétal-Burntbush greenstone belt has been historically underexplored for gold. The land package spans 200.3 square kilometres following consolidation of the Quebec and Ontario properties. Detailed specifications of the 2026 program will be announced once finalised.
Remainder of 2025 Drilling Activities at Eastern Gold Zone
Drilling recently recommenced at Perron with a 10,000 metre program to be completed before year-end. The program focuses on the Eastern Gold Zone, which comprises the Champagne, Denise, Team, E2, JT, and Alizée zones. The Eastern Gold Zone hosts the bulk of the current resource, and all zones remain open for expansion.
The program will test the northeastern extension of the Champagne Zone. A review of existing drilling data identified a potential extension of the gabbro unit hosting the zone. Historical exploration targeted what was interpreted as a linear ENE structural trend. Current interpretations suggest the gabbro may exhibit a flexure toward the northeast, meaning previous drilling may have been oriented suboptimally relative to the true geometry of the mineralised body.
Additional targets include deeper drilling at the Team Zone, where limited deep drilling has been conducted below the currently modelled resource. Two deep drill holes are planned to intersect multiple targets across the Team, E2, and Denise East zones. The program also includes extension drilling at the Central Polymetallic Zone, a gold-rich VMS system discovered in 2013 that returned 3.84 g/t Au, 23 g/t Ag, 1.4% Zn, and 0.10% Cu over 15.20 metres. Condemnation drilling is planned at the Alizée Zone to support infrastructure planning for the proposed bulk sample, for which permits have been submitted to Quebec government agencies.
Resource Expansion and New Target Testing at Perron and Perron West Projects
The 2026 program will target resource expansion while testing regional targets that could add new zones. Resource conversion drilling for the Phase 2 Feasibility Study is scheduled to begin in 2027. This timeline allows for resource growth activities in 2026 before conversion drilling commences.
The Perron and Perron West projects are delineated along the provincial border between Quebec and Ontario. The consolidated land package covers 218 claims across 20,030 hectares. Quebec claims acquired under the Perron West property acquisition will now be included with the Perron Project, with the provincial border serving as the distinguishing boundary.
The project is accessible by year-round road and is located 20 minutes from an airport and approximately eight kilometres from the Town of Normétal. The property is in proximity to several process plants owned by major gold producers.
Next Steps and Outlook
Amex will complete the 10,000 metre late 2025 drilling program before year-end, with results expected in early 2026. The program will test the northeastern Champagne Zone extension, deeper Team Zone targets, and extensions at the Central Polymetallic Zone. These results will precede the larger 2026 program.
Detailed specifications of the 2026 drill program will be announced in the coming months. The company has secured full funding for the 100,000 metre program. Resource conversion drilling for the Phase 2 Feasibility Study is scheduled to commence in 2027, following the completion of resource expansion activities in 2026.
