Cabral Gold’s Cuiú Cuiú Project Poised for Pivotal 2024

As Cabral Gold advances the historic Cuiú Cuiú gold project towards production, 2024 could prove pivotal with prefeasibility results, exploration updates, a potential build decision, and expanding regional mining activity signalling this project’s emergence as Brazil’s next major gold mine.

Historic Gold Production Points to Scale Potential

The Cuiú Cuiú gold project located in the Tapajos region of Brazil was once Brazil's largest placer gold mining camp during the 1980s gold rush. An estimated 2 million ounces (Moz) of placer gold was produced historically - nearly 10 times more than the adjacent TZ project currently under construction. This sizeable historical production points to the large scale potential of the Cuiú Cuiú mineralized system.

Advanced Exploration Defines Multiple Deposits

Cabral Gold has identified four gold deposits at Cuiú Cuiú so far through advanced exploration work. Two of these deposits have 43-101 compliant resource estimates, while the other two have returned significant drill intercepts but do not yet have formal resources. With over 40 additional targets identified across the concession, there appears to be considerable potential to further expand resources through additional drilling.

Near-Term Production Potential

Cabral is currently working on a pre-feasibility study focused on open pit mining and processing the upper oxidized saprolite material at Cuiú Cuiú. This study will assess the potential for lower capital cost production to start up as early as 2025. Additional drilling and metallurgical test work is underway to support these mine planning studies.

Strategic Partnership Funds Development Work

A financing deal formed last year with royalty company Osisko Gold Royalties is funding critical exploration and development activities needed to advance Cuiú Cuiú towards a production decision. The pre-feasibility study is expected to be completed in Q2 2024, potentially forming the basis for a near-term construction decision if positive.

Exciting Year Ahead

With Cabral Gold transitioning from explorer to emerging producer, 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting pivotal year for the Cuiú Cuiú gold project. Upcoming pre-feasibility study results, a potential construction decision, and expanding regional mining activity as the TZ project starts up, all signal that Cuiú Cuiú’s time could soon arrive as one of Brazil’s next major gold mines.
