New Madre Shear Target Extends Integra's Growth Past a 74% Reserve Increase

Integra's Florida Canyon drilling identified the Madre Shear North Target and returned 1.30 g/t gold over 62.5 m between existing open pits.

  • Drilling at the producing Florida Canyon Mine in Nevada identified the Madre Shear North Target, the northern extension of a gold-bearing structure that lies beneath the mine's North Dump.
  • The new target returned 0.48 grams per metric ton (g/t) gold over 54.9 meters (m).
  • Drilling between the Central and Radio Tower open pits returned 1.30 g/t gold over 62.5 m and 0.59 g/t gold over 167.6 m.
  • North Dump drilling returned 0.40 g/t gold over 36.6 m, at grades consistent with or above current mining grades.
  • Integra has completed 30,140 m of reverse circulation drilling at Florida Canyon so far in 2026.
  • The company plans 7,000 m of drilling at the Standard Mine area, 8 kilometers (km) south of Florida Canyon.

Company Overview

Integra Resources (TSXV: ITR | NYSE American: ITRG) is a precious metals producer operating in the Great Basin of the western United States. Its principal operating asset is the producing Florida Canyon Mine in Nevada, and its development pipeline comprises the past-producing DeLamar Project in southwestern Idaho and the Nevada North Project in western Nevada.

Drilling Inside the Mine Footprint

Integra's growth and expansion drill program at Florida Canyon is aimed at near-surface oxide gold mineralization within and immediately next to, the areas the mine already works. The program is designed to support future mineral resource and reserve updates and to inform planning for the life of the mine. So far in 2026, the company has completed 30,140 meters (m) of reverse circulation drilling at the property.

The results released on September 23, 2026, come from targets within the mine footprint and could be included in future mine plans. They follow a 74% increase in mineral reserves at Florida Canyon under the updated life-of-mine plan published in July 2026.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Integra Resources, George Salamis, ties the new intercepts to the ground the mine already occupies:

"The drill results reported today include some of the best gold intercepts drilled since Integra acquired Florida Canyon. The continued success in exploring the Mine has reinforced our view that the updated Technical Report was not the culmination of the Florida Canyon growth story; rather, it was the start of potential sustained resource growth achievable through disciplined exploration. Since the drill results announced today occur within or immediately adjacent to the existing mine operations and infrastructure, this gold mineralized material has the potential to positively impact and expand near-term mine plans."

The results cover 3 areas: the new Madre Shear North Target, the ground between existing open pits, and the North Dump.

The Madre Shear North Target

The Madre Shear is a structure associated with gold mineralization at Florida Canyon, running at right angles to the Range Front Fault that extends through both the Central Pit and the North Dump. Previous operators mined the southern portion of the Madre Shear. Its northern extension stayed largely unexplored because it lies beneath the North Dump.

The first phase of drilling covered approximately 2,000 m on a 91 m by 47 m grid and returned 0.48 grams per metric ton (g/t) gold over 54.9 m, 0.42 g/t gold over 9.1 m, and 0.32 g/t gold over 6.1 m. The mineralization is at or near the surface and will become more accessible as material from the North Dump is mined in future years.

Because the target lies immediately next to existing mining infrastructure, it could benefit from shorter haulage distances and lower capital requirements than mineralization further out. Mining of the southern portion of the Madre Shear by previous operators suggests that the material at the northern extension is amenable to heap-leach processing, subject to ongoing metallurgical testing.

Drilling Between the Central & Radio Tower Pits

Drilling in the saddles and ridges between active and historical open pits, which Integra groups as Inter-Pit areas, continues to demonstrate gold resource potential next to operating and historic open pits. Within that ground, the saddle between the Central and Radio Tower open pits has returned a zone of consistent mineralization above and next to gold resources already in the ground.

Drilling there returned 1.30 g/t gold over 62.5 m, including 9.37 g/t gold over 1.5 m and 14.74 g/t gold over 1.5 m, along with 0.59 g/t gold over 167.6 m, 0.84 g/t gold over 35.1 m, and 0.83 g/t gold over 29.0 m. Mineralization occurs at the surface, with thickness and grade remaining consistent across the zone, which supports mining that moves little waste rock per metric ton of ore.

Converting Inter-Pit areas into a potential gold resource could expand the known resource at Florida Canyon and provide future mining flexibility, as the material is adjacent to open pits and existing infrastructure.

North Dump Results

The North Dump holds material that the previous operators mined as waste. Integra drilled and modeled it for inclusion in the mine plan published in July 2026. The mining cost for that material has already been incurred, and its proximity to processing infrastructure shortens hauling distance and reduces the associated operating expense.

Drilling returned 0.40 g/t gold over 36.6 m, 0.38 g/t gold over 36.6 m, 0.39 g/t gold over 45.7 m, including 6.12 g/t gold over 1.5 m, and 0.34 g/t gold over 54.9 m. Grades are consistent with or exceed current mining grades, and the holes show strong grade continuity throughout the dump.

Next Steps

A further 2,000 m of drilling is planned at Madre Shear North to evaluate the scale, continuity, and resource potential of the target. More holes are planned north of the Central and Radio Tower saddle to confirm continuity in that area. Integra also plans to test ground outside the mine footprint, including 7,000 m of drilling at the Standard Mine area 8 kilometers (km) south of Florida Canyon.

FAQs (AI-Generated)

What is the Madre Shear North Target? +

It is the northern extension of the Madre Shear, a structure associated with gold mineralization at Florida Canyon. Previous operators mined the southern portion, while the northern extension stayed largely unexplored because it lies beneath the mine's North Dump.

What were the best intercepts announced? +

Drilling between the Central and Radio Tower open pits returned 1.30 g/t gold over 62.5 m and 0.59 g/t gold over 167.6 m. The Madre Shear North Target returned 0.48 g/t gold over 54.9 m.

What does the location of these results mean for the mine plan? +

The results come from targets within the mine footprint, so they could be included in future mine plans. Their position next to existing operations and infrastructure could mean shorter haulage distances and lower capital requirements than mineralization further out.

What is the North Dump, and why is Integra drilling it? +

It contains material that previous operators had mined as waste, and Integra drilled and modeled it for inclusion in the mine plan published in July 2026. The mining cost has already been incurred, and grades run consistently with or above current mining grades.

How much drilling has Integra completed, and what comes next? +

The company has completed 30,140 m of reverse circulation drilling at Florida Canyon so far in 2026. A further 2,000 m is planned at Madre Shear North, with 7,000 m planned at the Standard Mine area, 8 km south of the mine.
