- Drill hole 25ODD-135 at Camp Zone returned 2.72 g/t gold over 16.3 metres, with mineralisation identified along 450 metres of strike length
- Deep hole 25ODD-122 reached 2,014 metres depth and intersected 280 metres of Wenot shear corridor at 1,120 metres vertical depth, approximately 600 metres below known deposit extent
- Five drilling rigs currently operating at Wenot deposit with plans to complete 8,000 metres before year-end
- Company has completed 64 drill holes totalling 30,297 metres across the Omai property in 2025
OMAI GOLD Mines Corp. (TSXV: OMG) (OTCQB: OMGGF) is a Canadian exploration and development company with a 100% owned Omai Gold Project in Guyana, South America. In August 2025, the company announced a 96% increase to the Wenot deposit mineral resource estimate to 970,000 ounces indicated and 3,717,000 ounces inferred. The combined Wenot and Gilt Creek deposits contain 2,121,000 ounces indicated and 4,382,000 ounces inferred. The historic Omai Gold Mine produced over 3.7 million ounces between 1993 and 2005. An updated preliminary economic assessment is planned for the first half of 2026.
Exploration Results from BBH and Camp Zone Targets
The company reported assay results from 11 drill holes totalling 2,615 metres, with six holes at the BBH target and five at the Camp Zone. At the BBH target, drill hole 25ODD-131 intersected 20.33 g/t gold over 5.3 metres at 50 metres depth, including 35.61 g/t gold over 3 metres. The mineralisation occurs within flat-lying quartz veins between two northeast-trending structures. Historical drilling in the area includes an intersection of 0.74 g/t gold over 94 metres near surface.
At the Camp Zone, located 300 to 500 metres west of Wenot, hole 25ODD-135 returned 2.72 g/t gold over 16.3 metres at 115 metres depth, including 9.05 g/t gold over 4 metres. Hole 25ODD-136 intersected 2.05 g/t gold over 7.5 metres, including 11.32 g/t gold over 1 metre. Drilling has identified mineralisation along 450 metres of strike, with most intersections at depths less than 150 metres. The mineralisation occurs within felsic intrusions correlated to the "Dike Corridor" at the Wenot deposit, where similar geological features host gold mineralisation.
President and CEO Elaine Ellingham stated:
"Although we have kept our focus on expanding the Wenot open pit deposit and driving forward to an updated Preliminary Economic Study with a much expanded Omai mine plan, we still believe that identifying and working to define additional satellite deposits will create further value to the project."
Deep Drilling Tests Wenot Extension at Depth
Drill hole 25ODD-122 reached 2,014 metres depth and intersected approximately 280 metres of the Wenot shear corridor at 1,120 metres vertical depth, approximately 600 metres below the deepest known extent of the deposit. The hole confirmed the geological model showing the Wenot shear dips at an estimated 85 degrees to the north. Assay results are pending.
Ms. Ellingham commented:
"Although the Omai Mineral Resource Estimate is quite sizeable, the geological extension to depth of the shear corridor that hosts the gold mineralisation in the upper part of Wenot provides the possibility for an even longer mine life."
The Wenot deposit has been identified along a 2.5-kilometre strike length at surface and near-surface levels. The hole did not continue beyond 2,014 metres due to physical drilling limitations and did not reach the southern limit of the shear zone.
Five-Rig Programme Continues at Wenot
Five drilling rigs are currently operating at the Wenot deposit with plans to complete 8,000 metres before year-end. The drilling aims to optimise the upcoming preliminary economic assessment, test deposit extensions east and west, and upgrade portions of the inferred mineral resource to indicated status.
The August 2025 resource update increased the Wenot deposit by 96% to 970,000 ounces indicated and 3,717,000 ounces inferred. The April 2024 preliminary economic assessment included less than 30% of the new mineral resource estimate. The company has completed 64 drill holes totalling 30,297 metres across the Omai property in 2025.
Assay results remain pending for two holes at BBH, two holes at Camp Zone, and the deep hole 25ODD-122. The updated preliminary economic assessment is planned for the first half of 2026.
Next Steps
The company awaits assay results from deep hole 25ODD-122 and four additional holes from the exploration targets. The five-rig drilling programme at Wenot continues through year-end with a target of 8,000 metres. The updated preliminary economic assessment, scheduled for the first half of 2026, will include the expanded Wenot open pit deposit and the Gilt Creek underground deposit.
