Serabi Gold names Nick Box Interim CFO from August 28, 2026, as Colm Howlin steps down after 13 years; the search for a permanent CFO is underway.
Colm Howlin stepped down as Chief Financial Officer and director of Serabi Gold on August 28, 2026, after 13 years with the company. Nick Box, a finance executive with 20 years of experience in the extractive industries, became Interim Chief Financial Officer on the same date, while Serabi searches for a permanent successor. Box will not join the Board. He previously served as Vice President, Investor Relations at Harbour Energy and as Chief Financial Officer of SDX Energy.
Company Overview
Serabi Gold (AIM: SRB | TSX: SBI | OTCQX: SRBIF) is a gold exploration, development, and production company focused on the Tapajós region in Pará State, northern Brazil. The company has consistently produced 30,000 to 40,000 ounces of gold per year from the Palito Complex and plans to double production in the coming years as it ramps up the Coringa Mine. Serabi recently made a copper-gold porphyry discovery on its exploration license. The company is headquartered in the United Kingdom and has a secondary office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Finance Leadership Changes Ahead of Interim Results
Serabi Gold announced on September 1, 2026, that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Colm Howlin, had decided to leave both his CFO role and his seat on the Board. His departure took effect on August 28, 2026. Serabi had to publish its unaudited interim results for the six months to June 30, 2026, before September 30, 2026, under the AIM Rules. That means the transition took place during the company's half-year reporting period.
Nick Box was appointed Interim CFO from the same date. He will not sit on the Board, but he will work closely with the Board and the finance team until a permanent CFO is appointed. Serabi has started the search for a successor.
Chairman of Serabi Gold, Michael Lynch Bell, thanked Howlin for his tenure and explained how the Board will handle the interim period:
"The Board conveys its thanks to Colm for his 13 years of service to Serabi, during which time he has been a dedicated and committed employee. The Board wishes him every success in his future endeavors. We look forward to working with Nick over the coming months while we search for a permanent Chief Financial Officer."
