Cassiar Gold Advances 2026 Drilling and Secures Exploration Permit Through 2031

Cassiar Gold completes 7,400 metres of 2026 drilling at Taurus and Newcoast, and extends its area based exploration permit to 2031.

  • The 2026 drill programme has reached 7,400 metres across 31 holes, progressing toward the planned 10,000 metre total for the season.
  • Drilling is focused on the Taurus deposit and the Newcoast regional prospect, located two kilometres to the southeast.
  • The company's Multi Year Area Based exploration permit has been extended to March 31, 2031, authorising up to 200 drill sites, 22.43 kilometres of new exploration trails, 50 helipads and 395 line kilometres of geophysical surveys.
  • The Taurus deposit holds an Indicated Mineral Resource of 410,000 ounces of gold and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 1.93 million ounces, with 91% of ounces within 150 metres of surface.
  • An Ausenco led Preliminary Economic Assessment is underway and is targeted for delivery in the second half of 2026.

Cassiar Gold Corp. (TSXV: GLDC) (OTCQX: CGLCF) is a Canada-based gold exploration company holding a 100% interest in its Cassiar Gold property in British Columbia. The property covers approximately 590 square kilometres and is made up of two main areas: Cassiar North, home to the Taurus deposit, and Cassiar South, a past producing high grade gold district with several targets still to be evaluated. The company also holds most of the Sheep Creek gold camp near Salmo, British Columbia, the third largest past producing orogenic gold district in the province between 1900 and 1951, where little exploration has taken place since the 1950s.

2026 Drill Campaign Progressing at Taurus and Newcoast

Crews are currently in the field as part of the 2026 exploration campaign. Of the 10,000 metres of diamond drilling planned for the year, 7,400 metres across 31 holes have been completed to date at the Cassiar North project area. The bulk of this drilling has centred on the Taurus deposit, with over 2,000 metres also allocated to the nearby Newcoast prospect.

Taurus remains the primary target for the season. The current drilling is designed to test extensions of known mineralisation beyond the existing resource model, referred to in the industry as "step out" drilling, and to infill gaps between previously drilled areas to improve resource confidence. The deposit hosts an Indicated Mineral Resource of 410,000 ounces and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 1.93 million ounces of gold, with 91% of ounces occurring within 150 metres of surface.

At Newcoast, drill holes completed so far have intersected broad zones of quartz veining and disseminated sulphide mineralisation associated with gold. Updated geological interpretation has identified multiple structural trends controlling that mineralisation, providing a framework for further targeting.

Marco Roque, President and CEO of Cassiar Gold Corp., said:

"We are excited to report strong progress on our 2026 exploration season at Cassiar Gold, with over 7,000 metres of drilling completed out of our planned 10,000 metre program. Our team remains focused on expanding our resource base at the Taurus deposit and unlocking the potential of our district scale property. With robust gold prices, established infrastructure, permits, and a strong and collaborative relationship with local communities, we are well positioned to deliver value for our shareholders and stakeholders."

Multi Year Permit Extended to 2031

Cassiar Gold's Multi Year Area Based Mines Act permit has been extended through March 31, 2031. The amended permit sits alongside the company's two existing mine permits, the Taurus Gold Mine Permit and the Table Mountain Permit, which cover the current Taurus resource footprint and the past producing mines and mill site at Cassiar South.

The amended permit authorises up to 200 drill sites using both ground based and helicopter supported access, 22.43 kilometres of new exploration trails in addition to the property's existing road network, 50 helipads to support work in remote terrain, and 395 line kilometres of induced polarisation surveys. This type of survey measures how different rock types conduct an electrical charge, helping geologists map subsurface features and identify drill targets. The permit also allows exploration activity to continue outside the summer field season.

The Cassiar Gold property sits within the traditional territory of the Kaska Dena Nation.

Jill Maxwell, VP Exploration of Cassiar Gold Corp., said:

"We are very pleased to have received this amended Multi-Year Area-Based permit, which secures our ability to advance our exploration target pipeline at the Cassiar Gold project through to 2031, providing the runway needed to support our resource growth strategy at our district-scale project. This approval is a testament to our team's commitment to responsible exploration, environmental stewardship, and meaningful engagement with communities."

Ausenco Led PEA Targeting Second Half of 2026

Cassiar Gold is advancing a Preliminary Economic Assessment, or PEA, led by engineering firm Ausenco, targeted for delivery in the second half of 2026. A PEA is an early stage study that estimates the potential economics of developing a mineral deposit, based on assumptions around mining methods, processing and costs, without committing the company to building a mine.

The PEA will incorporate metallurgical testwork, which examines how efficiently gold can be recovered from the ore, and will evaluate development scenarios for the Taurus deposit. The study will also establish work plans to support continued advancement of the project.

In parallel, the technical team is evaluating targets at Cassiar South, an area with a history of high grade production. Past underground mines there yielded more than 315,000 ounces of gold at average grades of between 10 and 20 grams per tonne. Separately, the company has awarded 500,000 restricted share units to certain consultants under its existing compensation plan, vesting over the next two years.

Milestones and Next Steps

The remainder of the 2026 drill programme at Taurus and Newcoast is expected to continue toward the 10,000 metre target for the season, with assay results to follow. The extended Multi Year Area Based permit runs through March 31, 2031 and covers drill sites, exploration trails, helipads and geophysical surveys for that period. The Ausenco led PEA is targeted for delivery in the second half of 2026, alongside continued target evaluation at Cassiar South.
