Cabral Gold Appoints Tapajos Discovery Geologist Elton Pereira as Vice President Exploration

Cabral Gold appoints Elton Pereira, a Tapajos discovery geologist, as Vice President Exploration to lead growth across the Cuiú Cuiú district.

Cabral Gold Inc. (TSXV: CBR | OTCQX: CBGZF) has appointed Elton Pereira as Vice President Exploration, effective immediately, replacing Brian Arkell, who moves into a new role as Vice President Technical Services. Pereira's career spans several of the discoveries that established the Tapajos as one of Brazil's most prospective gold regions, including roles at Rio Tinto Exploration, Brazauro Resources, Tristar Gold, and, most recently, Bahia Nickel. In his new role, he will lead target generation, drill planning, technical evaluation and growth initiatives across a district that holds 6 defined gold deposits and more than 50 peripheral targets, as Cabral builds toward commercial gold production in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Company Overview

Cabral Gold (TSXV: CBR | OTCQX: CBGZF) is a junior resource company engaged in the exploration, development, and near-term production of gold properties in Brazil, holding a 100% interest in the Cuiú Cuiú gold district in the Tapajós Region of Pará state, northern Brazil. Three main gold deposits at Cuiú Cuiú host resources of 12.29 million tonnes at 1.14 grams per tonne gold (450,200 ounces) in harder, deeper rock and 13.56 million tonnes at 0.50 grams per tonne gold (216,182 ounces) in near-surface material, at a confidence level the company classifies as Indicated. A further 13.63 million tonnes at 1.04 grams per tonne gold (455,100 ounces) in deeper rock and 6.4 million tonnes at 0.34 grams per tonne gold (70,569 ounces) in near-surface material are classified at a lower confidence level, known as Inferred. These estimates are based on independent technical reports dated October 12, 2022, October 21, 2024, and July 29, 2025. The company is currently building its Phase 1 processing operation based on the 2025 study, targeting commercial gold production in the fourth quarter of 2026.

A Discovery Record Rooted in the Tapajos

Pereira holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos and a Master of Science in Structural Geology from the Federal University of Ouro Preto, and is a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists. He spent 11 years with Rio Tinto Exploration in Brazil, where he was involved in the initial discoveries of the Sao Jorge and Palito gold deposits in the Tapajos region, before playing a role in defining the Tocantinzinho gold deposit at Brazauro Resources, now one of the largest open-pit gold mines in Brazil. He then spent 8 years as Vice President Exploration for Tristar Gold, where he was involved in the discovery of the Castelo de Sonhos gold deposit, and most recently served as Country Manager of Bahia Nickel (now Bahia Metals), where he was involved in identifying the Mangueiros sulphide nickel deposit in Bahia State.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Cabral Gold, Alan Carter, said:

“We are very pleased to welcome Elton to Cabral Gold as Vice President Exploration. His discovery track record in Brazil, and in particular the Tapajos gold region, makes him an excellent fit for Cabral as we continue to explore and develop the Cuiú Cuiú gold district. We believe that his extensive experience, deep geological knowledge, and hands-on approach to exploration will be a major asset to our Company going forward.”

Over 50 Targets Still to Test & 6 Deposits

Pereira's arrival coincides with Arkell's move to Vice President Technical Services, separating district-wide exploration leadership from the technical work of advancing the Phase 1 operation toward production.

Pereira said:

“I am very excited to join Cabral Gold at this important stage in the Company’s evolution as it transitions from a pure exploration Company to a junior gold producer. The Cuiú Cuiú district currently contains six separate gold deposits and over 50 peripheral targets which require further exploration. It was historically the largest placer gold camp in the Tapajos, and I look forward to working with the team to unlocking the value of the district through a disciplined, discovery-focused exploration strategy that can create meaningful long-term value.”

Next Steps

Pereira will lead the company's exploration programme, covering target generation, drill planning, technical evaluation and growth initiatives across Cabral's gold projects. The district provides the immediate pipeline for this work, running in parallel with construction of the Phase 1 gold-in-oxide heap leach operation, which is targeting commercial gold production in the fourth quarter of 2026.
