Geiger Energy Confirms Uranium Discovery in First Hole Drilled at Fox Zone on Aberdeen Project

Geiger Energy's first drill hole at the previously untested Fox Zone intersected uranium mineralisation with geology similar to Orano's nearby Kiggavik deposits.

  • The first hole drilled at Fox, FOX26-001, intersected approximately 50 metres of elevated radioactivity across two zones between 173 and 230 metres depth.
  • Fox had not been drill tested previously. Geiger selected the target using gravity, magnetic and structural data.
  • Fox is located on the Andrew Lake Fault, the same structure associated with Orano's Kiggavik-area deposits, which hold an estimated 133 million pounds of uranium resources.
  • Alteration features at Fox, including clay alteration, iron oxide staining and pyrite, are consistent with those found at the Kiggavik deposits.
  • Mineralisation begins near surface, with the main zone starting at approximately 173 metres, and additional untested targets have been identified along the broader 17 kilometre corridor.

Geiger Energy Corp. (TSXV: BEEP) (OTCQB: BSENF) is a Canada-based uranium exploration company with land holdings in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan and the Thelon Basin in Nunavut. Its Aberdeen Project in the Thelon Basin includes two existing uranium discoveries, Tatiggaq and Qavvik, along with more than 50 additional targets. In Saskatchewan, the company also holds the Hook Project, where the ACKIO uranium discovery has been identified starting at shallow depth.

New Uranium Discovery at Greenfield Fox Zone in First-Ever Drill Hole on Aberdeen Project

Geiger Energy has reported a uranium discovery at the Fox Zone, part of its Aberdeen Project in Nunavut's Thelon Basin. Fox had not previously been drilled and was selected as a target using gravity, magnetic and structural data.

The discovery hole, FOX26-001, intersected two mineralised zones: a 20 metre interval from 173 to 193 metres, and a 30 metre interval from 200 to 230 metres. Radioactivity was measured using a handheld scintillometer, an instrument that detects radioactive minerals in counts per second (cps). Readings in these zones largely exceeded 100 cps, with some narrow intervals exceeding 500 cps. Scintillometer readings indicate the presence of radioactive minerals but do not represent laboratory-assayed uranium grades, which have not yet been reported.

Scattered elevated radioactivity was also recorded from near surface to the current end of the hole at 350 metres. The mineralisation begins close to surface, with the main zone starting at approximately 173 metres.

Kiggavik-Style Basement-Hosted Mineralization Confirmed Directly on Andrew Lake Fault Trend

Fox is located on the Andrew Lake Fault, the structure associated with Orano's Kiggavik-area uranium deposits, which hold an estimated 133 million pounds of uranium resources according to Orano and Denison Mines disclosures. This corridor extends approximately 17 kilometres across Geiger's Aberdeen property, where several gravity anomalies, areas where underground rock density readings indicate altered or disturbed rock, have been identified. Fox is one of these anomalies.

The rock intersected in FOX26-001 shows features consistent with the Kiggavik-style of mineralisation, in which a reactivated fault fractures older basement rock, creating pathways for mineralising fluids. At Fox, this includes an altered breccia (a rock made up of broken, then re-cemented, fragments), along with clay alteration, iron oxide staining and pyrite.

"Fox is exactly the proof of concept we set out to deliver. We drilled one hole into a target that had never been tested and hit uranium mineralization, intense alteration and major structural disruption, the same ingredients that define the Kiggavik deposits along trend from us. Fox tells us two things: our targeting model works, and the fertility of the Andrew Lake corridor extends onto our ground."

Proof of Concept Validating Targeting Model Across 17-Kilometre Corridor With Multiple Untested Analogous Targets

Fox was the first untested target on the Andrew Lake corridor to be drilled by Geiger. According to the company, the result demonstrates that its target-generation approach, using gravity lows on reactivated structures, identifies mineralised uranium systems, and shows the corridor is mineralised beyond the known Kiggavik deposits.

Fox comprises two connected gravity anomalies spanning approximately 1.3 kilometres, of which the first drill hole has tested only a portion. Additional untested anomalies with similar characteristics have been identified along the wider 17 kilometre trend on Geiger's property.

"With 17 kilometres of that corridor on Geiger's property and a series of untested gravity anomalies of the same character, Fox is not just one encouraging drill hole, it potentially opens a new exploration front across Aberdeen."

Milestones and Next Steps

Geiger has identified follow-up drilling at Fox as an immediate priority, to further evaluate the mineralised system within the 1.3 kilometre gravity anomaly. Assay results from FOX26-001, which will provide laboratory-confirmed uranium grades, have not yet been reported. The company plans to apply its targeting model to the remaining untested anomalies along the Andrew Lake corridor in 2026 and beyond.
