Index Inclusion & Rebalance Details
TRX Gold Corporation has been added to the MVIS® Global Junior Gold Miners Index (MVGDXJ), the index provider confirmed as part of its third quarter 2026 rebalance announcement on September 11, 2026. MVGDXJ is a modified market-capitalization-weighted index tracking the most liquid small-capitalization companies in the global gold and silver mining industries, restricted to companies generating at least 50% of revenue from gold or silver mining, or holding at least 50% of mining mineral resources in gold or silver.
The third quarter 2026 rebalance follows a fixed schedule: the index data and reference date were August 31, 2026; the rebalance announcement came on September 11, 2026; index implementation occurred on September 18, 2026; and the new composition became effective on September 21, 2026, the next trading day after implementation.
Chief Executive Officer of TRX Gold, Stephen Mullowney, tied the MVGDXJ addition to the company's broader index progress:
"Following our addition to the S&P/TSX Global Mining Index announced on March 28, I am very pleased to announce that TRX Gold has now also met the criteria for inclusion in the MVGDXJ, which is designed to track the overall performance of small-capitalization companies that are involved primarily in the mining of gold and/or silver. TRX Gold's inclusion in this major index has the potential to maintain and attract additional global institutional investment into the Company and increase liquidity, with the MVGDXJ being an important benchmark requirement for many large investment funds. This addition also positions the Company for possible inclusion in related funds and ETFs, including the VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF ("GDXJ®") which seeks to replicate as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, as closely as possible the price and yield performance of the MVGDXJ. Congratulations to the entire team on achieving this important milestone!"
Next Steps
Index implementation and rebalancing occur on September 18, 2026, with the new MVGDXJ composition, including TRX Gold, becoming effective September 21, 2026.
